Best BBQ in San Diego?
My mom made the best pork ribs ever. From her wildly addicting rub and sauce, down to the couple of days it took to do them, they attracted people from all over San Diego County for many, many years. Alas, I have never perfected her sauce, but I clearly remember the whole process. I never met anybody who didn't love them.
Aspartame? Does anyone else enjoy it?
No problem. I love the stuff, all drinks caffiene free, I do have problems with artificial sweeteners in candy, but that's a no-brainer. My sister actually liked cyclamates. Yuk.

My most fun drink was the super-powerful home-brewed root beer my father made that blew out all the bottle bottoms while curing. What a mess and what fun.
Best Ginger Ale?
I am 16 days out from surgery, and one of the requirements is to never drink soda or anything carbonated ever again. So everybody make sure you especially enjoy all your non-alcoholic bubbly drinks even more.
Any good sodas out there with no corn syrup??
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabbetes a couple of years ago. I'm doing pretty good, yet I have to admit I do a certain amount of food experimenting. I have been drinking diet sodas since they came out on the market. I was distressed when A&W put caffeine in their cream soda. So every now and then I buy a 2 liter of regular cream soda as I don't need that many extra calories. Lo and behold. My body treats high fructose corn syrup and regullar corn syrup as CORN! Evidently my body can't tell the difference! Wow!
Best Ginger Ale?
I like vernor's, too. For everyday ginger ale, I like the diet ginger ale at Vons.
What is the best diet root beer?
ok, I'm a sucker. If it's root beer, I'll drink it.
Good bread in San Diego
There used to be a good baker somewhere around Washington and Goldfinch. Good bread and good tortillas find you eating them on the way home while they are still warm.
