Napa Wine Itinerary

Thank you so much! I think with the chilly weather, we'll be favoring reds anyway :) Also, I had no idea these places required a reservation-- I'll get on that!

Napa Wine Itinerary

My husband and I are going to Napa next month-- we've been to Sonoma twice and look forward to to exploring a new part of wine country. We love bold, spicy reds and crisp whites, but we're very much wine neophiles. Anyone mind taking a look at the wineries we've picked out so far? We can't go to all of them, so if any of them are passable or must-visits, I'd love to hear so we can narrow down our list. Also, if there's an alternative (maybe a small, unique winery you love), please feel free to share. I'm hoping for a mix of established and smaller wineries. Thank you!

Four days in Seattle!

This is where I am embarrassed to admit that neither of us is an oyster fan. We both enjoy seafood, but not oysters particularly. That being said, I've heard great things about Walrus & Carpenter-- is it good for seafood in general? Thank you so much for weighing in!

Four days in Seattle!

Hello! My husband and I will be in Seattle for four days in late December. It's our first visit to the city and we're very excited. We'd ideally like to do 1 fancy, upscale dinner and then the rest of the days a bunch of exploring of low to mid price spots (brunch/lunch/gastropub). We love all kinds of food, particularly bold flavors, and we love great ambience/atmosphere. We'll be staying downtown, so restaurants w/in a reasonable proximity (walk/cab/public transport) would be best. Thank you in advance for any recommendations you may have!

Special Occasion Restaurant for my Dad's 60th

Criteria:
-- Anywhere in Orange County or Los Angeles

-- Nice enough to feel worthy of a special occasion, but not too stuffy (no "jacket required" type dress code)

-- Must be able to order a la carte off the menu (no set courses)

-- He loves: steak and Asian fusion/Chinese/Korean

-- Nice view is a plus (but great food comes first)

Any ideas? I appreciate any suggestions anyone can offer!

3 Days in DC-- Recs for High/Low Restaurants

My husband and I will be in DC for three days in May and as usual, food is the first thing on our mind. We are hoping that fellow Chowhounds can steer us in the right direction re: restaurants.

We're thinking one nice dinner and the rest of the meals being low to mid-priced. For the nice dinner, we're thinking great food + young/trendy/urban atmosphere. We love all kinds of food and prefer nothing too stuffy. Any ideas for a fun couple in their late twenties who love to eat and drink?

Need Special Occasion Restaurant that meets my criteria-- please help!

I actually had settled on Saddle Peak Lodge, but I showed the menu to my fiance, and he thought his family wouldn't be able to handle all that game :)

So far, I'm thinking Spago unless anyone else has any great suggestions. Thanks everyone!

I need suggestions for a special occasion restaurant in the LA area. Here's my criteria:

1) Entrees average $50 a person or less

2) The food has to be really delicious; can be ANY cuisine except French. Steakhouse suggestions are particularly welcome.

3) Warm ambience, non-pretentious atmosphere.

Thank you so much!

Wedding Reception in LA or OC with Fantastic Food?

I'm trying to find a wedding reception site in LA or OC that serves really great food. I know most weddings are not known for their food, but my family is very particular and I want something that everyone will really enjoy. Any suggestions? Looking for something preferably not over $100/a head and a place that will fit 150-250 ppl.

Thanks!
