I emailed Mezzetta about the dark peperoncini and received this reply:

"Thank you for your email regarding our Mezzetta Brand Tuscan Peperoncini. Unfortunately this item is discontinued and no longer available and there are no plans at this time to bring them back. Our supplier that we used for many years stopped producing them due to a decline in demand. We tried several suppliers who were not able to mee the quality standards that we have set."

I gave my husband "Food Rules." We both especially love that rule too. Every few months we make our own french fries. Yum!

I had it in China (Shanghai, I think) back in 1982. It was delicious! But I ate too much of it and had the runs the next day.

No food that has the consistency of snot (e.g., pulque, uncooked egg white)
No excessive consumption of eel jerky
No American cheese, Miracle Whip, imitation seafood, or "lite" anything
No menudo
No shark fin soup
and...
you do not have to add cilantro to EVERY Mexican dish!

Or the HOA has had too many bovine defenestration complaints.

My husband's selection for our book club this month is Myra Breckinridge, which is set in 1960s Hollywood. Any ideas for dishes? The only decision I've made so far is a green salad with Green Goddess dressing. Thanks!
