New on Lombard Street?
Hi
Does anyone know what restaurant is moving into the former AstralPlane/Chrisstevens space on the 1700 block of Lombard Street
Table 31
Table 31 is upsetting on so many levels. This is obviously more Chris' operation the Georges. Menu all over the place, service inconsistent, food arrived lukewarm. Sides never arrived and we were charged almost $200.00 for the incorrect champagne which the captain then blamed on the server.
Chris was at the bar talking with friends or on his palm for almost our entire time there. Oh George you need to straighten out this place before it affects your reputation.
Help me choose one of these Philly restaurants!
Tinto is 3 blocks away and is wonderful. Then accross the street for gelato
Chima - 19th & JFK
decor and food was mediocore. BYGO coupon and always tip at least 20% on total before discount but were put off by the automatic gratuity. Did speak with manager who first said gratuity was stated on coupon. It was not, he then said ther server should have made it clear.
Susanna Foo or Osteria?
Been to and like both. Osteria is loud, and fun with excellent food. SueFoo is quiet and elegant with excellent food. Two very different dining experiences.
Chima Philadelphia
We usually tip 20% or more because my husband waited tables in college and appreciates how hard staff works. Of course we would have tipped on the total for two meals but guess not everyone does. The issue was their not telling us that the tip was automatically included.
Chima Philadelphia
What a disappointment. Decor is lack-luster Vegas buffet, salad bar uninteresting and meats mediocore. Add to that they add an automatic 18% gratuity without any mention. Seems the tip is added when you have a two for one coupon. Yes I know this is done in Europe, Mexico, Latin and South America, but you know that in advance. We thought the bill was on the high side then read the small print. We won't return.
The Word on Le Bec Fin
It is truly sad that a luxury experience like Le Bec Fin will be lost to so many . Le Bec was a haven of wonderful food and unrilvaled service unlike anything in much of the US I can understand giving up the stars, but going casual is dumbing down

Italian market Q
First. Why oh why did you leave Italy???
If you want authentic bread go to Faragalli's at 13th & Reed Streets. You will think you are in italy with nona sitting by the window . Di Bruno's also carries their bread, but you have to ask for it.
Guadio's has the best Mozzarrela, which they make fresh. Claudio's cheeses are also carried by Sue's Produce on 18th Street
I second Talluto's for pasta. I love their mushroom ravioli. If it's gnocchi you are looking for a secret place is the restaurant Cucina Forte on soth 8th street. It's a really good restaurant and their gnocchi is heavenly. I call and order it to go, pop it in the freezer then cook for ten minutes. wonderful.
