Thanksgiving Dinner at Utah Restaurant, need recs.

My wife, daughter, and I live in Salt Lake City and are looking to eat out this year for Thanksgiving. Can you please make a recommendation on a good, possibly eclectic, restaurant within 60 miles of SLC.

Thank you.

I need a great restaurant for my girlfriend's birthday.

Just remembered.....CRAFT in Century City...good is incredible, service is great, setting and decor are fabulous. Could prove for some interesting people watching also.

I need a great restaurant for my girlfriend's birthday.

You might want to try Providence on Melrose in Hollywood. Pricey, but definitely worth it. Sounds like you've been to quite a few other places suggested. You also might want to consider JiRaffe or Josie.

Best Curry in Los Angeles

I had some surprisingly good curry one time at Trader Vics at the intersection of Santa Monica Blvd and Wilshire right on the edge of Beverly Hills. Don't know if it's still on the menu, but was pleasantly surprised at all of the various condiments they brought out for me to put on the curry in little dishes.

Maui Wedding Dinner for Two

Congratulations!!! I was a little bit skeptical of Mama's due to mixed reviews I had read and heard about the service and food. We were in Maui in June and my wife forced me to go to Mama's since she'd been wanting to go there for so long. We went.......and it was wonderful. Really, it was great. We ordered 3 appetizers instead of entree's. The service was great, the food was great. The setting is wonderful. The food is a little pricey, but we were glad we went. Good luck.

What's Good Near Hill AFB UT?

My Favorite Meals, Under $20, in these Recessionary Times

Original Tommy's on the corner of Beveryl and Rampart....awesome. Killer breakfast sandwiches!. I think their breakfast sandwich is possibly better than their burger. I had a girlfriend that lived near the Original Tommy's in Long Beach on the corner of Anaheim and Ximeno. When I found out they made breakfast sandwiches....it was all over baby.

My Favorite Meals, Under $20, in these Recessionary Times

Chabelita - on Western north of the 10 freeway about 2 blocks, right near the fire station on the left side of the road if you're going north. Tasty carne asada tacos.

My Favorite Meals, Under $20, in these Recessionary Times

I"ll second your Diddy Riese but I prefer the scoop of ice cream in the middle of two cookies. Used to be $1.00. I'd also vote for Versaille in Culver City or any of their 4 or 5 other locations...Famous Pollo Versaille ($9.95) with sweet plantains, rice and beans.

Best Curry in Los Angeles

Curry House in Little Tokyo

What's Good Near Hill AFB UT?

Niki, one place you may want to try near Hill is the Burger Barn. It was featured on the Food Networks Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives a few weeks ago. Excellent, huge, burgers, no where to sit though. It is simply a burger spot. Other than that, there's a great place called
Ye Lions Den
3607 Washington Boulevard
Ogden, Utah 84403-1737 ph: 801.399.5804

Eating out in Boise

Sundevil has been to the best spots in Boise. I travel to Boise frequently and eat out a lot. Best Food I had in Boise was at Six One Six in Eagle. The Trout Roulade at Franco Latino was also really really good. Never tried Milkey Way but also heard it was good. Still haven't found good sushi in Boise.

Westin Maui-Need Best Dinner place here or close by!! Thanks

There's obviously some places just down the road at Whalers Village. I would go up the road to somewhere like Sansei up in Kapalua.

The Return Of......My Upcoming Las Vegas Vacation

What does LOS stand for? I couldn't find it in Las Vegas on a Restaurant search.

Thanks.

Wine tasting in Napa Valley

Sinsky and Del Dotto get lots of good reviews as well. Don't bother with Niebaum Coppola or Rubicon or whatever it's called now. Too expensive to just drive on the grounds. Have heard that Silver Oak is also nice.

Wine tasting in Napa Valley

Here's the deal....
Definitely go to Joseph Phelps. That was a good wine tasting and killer setting. Go in the morning if possible. We went to Terra Valentine in the Spring Mountain District, that was really cool as well. Spring Mountain District is up in the Mtns outside of St. Helena. Very nice setting. We went to Duckhorn also. Pretty nice but not great. Mumm for Champagne was ok. Everyone talks about Shramsburg, but you need to check the times for the tours. Unfortunately, we weren't able to sync up.

Good Restaurant near O'Hare, please advise

Thank you Jerry.

Good Restaurant near O'Hare, please advise

Hi,

I'm looking for a good restaurant, not too expensive, a dive is great, near O'hare for two business travelers on Tuesday night, April 15. Don't drink wine, just looking for really good asian, mexican, american, whatever.

Thanks so much.

The Apple Pan hickory burger revisited (with clear eyes)

Apple pan is a great burger, fries, and pie. No doubt about it. It is a Los Angeles institution. All things considered, best in Los Angeles.

So what's new in & around Santa Fe?

I would send the Pinon Grill. Also recommend Pranzo's, Ristra, and Il Piatto, although I'll most likely be a the Blue Corn Cafe.

So what's new in & around Santa Fe?

I'll be in Santa Fe the same weekend. Last time I was there, April, we ate at The Compound. I thought the food was quite good. Geronimo hasn't really been getting good reviews by the locals. That's a fact regardless of what is said here on the board.
As far as breakfast, go to Harry's Roadhouse and get the Migas. Great food for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Not sophisticated or upscale though.

Where should I take my best friend????????

I don't know where your friend is from, but Spago certainly won't give him what I consider "the L.A. experience." In my opinion, what makes Los Angeles special is the proximity to the Ocean, Pacific Coast Hwy, and Malibu. I would consider Nobu in Malibu or Geoffrey's Locationally, Spago is nothing special.

Where should I take my best friend????????

I sort of tire of the "money is not an object" cliche'. Sorry. Spago, Spago, Spago. C'mon. Spago is stuffy and overrated. At places where money is no object, the people are pretentious and stiff.
I'd go to 17th Street Cafe on Montana, Babalu, or Fritto Misto in Santa Monica. Orso in Beverly Hills. Ca'Brea is great, Campanile is great, Katsu-ya on San Vincente and Montana, Chinois on Main.

Napa this weekend 9/21 - 9/23

Thanks Melanie.

Sushi Quest

Musashino Sushi Dokoro, Maiko Sushi Lounge. These are two of the best.

Best sushi in Las Vegas, price no object

Nobu at Hard Rock, Sushi Roku at Caesars Palace, Okada, Shintaro.

Napa this weekend 9/21 - 9/23

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like I need to add Sinsky to the Sunday plans. We're going to be at Terra Valentine at 10 am for a tasting. Maybe we grab a sandwich at Oakville Grocery and head to Sinsky to eat on the patio.

Napa this weekend 9/21 - 9/23

Peace

What areas to visit besides Tokyo/Kyoto?

Nara is really nice but you'll get the same feel as Kyoto only smaller. I wouldn't spend too much time there. The pancake type food the person is mentioning is called an "okonomiyaki". They're quite good. For a real interesting experience, you may want to go to Sapporo (Hokkaido Island) up north. It is quite a bit different than the rest of Japan in that there is a lot of snow there and they have much more expansive geography. Good Luck.
