Where to eat around St. Clair & Bathurst
Good to know, I've been meaning to try Sado Sushi delivery. I think I've read a review (maybe here?) that said to order the chef's specialties instead of the standard menu...

Chicken roti at St Clair West and Vaughan at Albert's! Recently reno'd and reliably good.
Also, we tried Eastern Twist on St Clair (SW corner) at Bathurst for lunch a few weeks ago. Great. Cocoa Latte, closer to Christie has a patio, gelato and enthusiastic owners. Haven't eaten there yet, curious. More lunch, I think. And across the street, Dave's seems to be reaching out via social media. Live music on Wednesdays, pizza.
And agree with most of the other options listed above. Rushton is a family fave, Stockyards has killer breakfast/brunch, Mashu Mashu has great lentil soup.
If going along Eglinton to Bathurst strip, I only hear good things about Frida. And there's an interesting su$hi place up there too, sorry name escapes me.

Don't bother wrt Hope Street in the Village, it's closed. And has been for 6 months or so. Renovations, or so they say. If you come to the Village, Banfi has spectacular takeout pizza but is often crowded. Calling ahead for pickup is a good strategy. And I'm a fan of Edo-ko's sushi but it's not cheap. Rumour has an Aroma opening in the old Blockbuster location. As for St Clair West, I have been going to Ferro for years, it's solidly reasonable and full of locals.
ISO: dirty vodka martini with blue-cheese-stuffed olives
I had several memorable martinis just like this in Chicago, almost a dozen years ago. So glad you asked this question, and will be even more so if someone comes up with the name of a Toronto bar that serves 'em.
Foodie Fri and Sat nights in Toronto
Yes, good reminder about reservations. You will definitely need them for anywhere even remotely nice.

My two currrent favourites are Delux on Ossington (near Queen, Downtown-ish) and Wok with Yu on Eglinton (at Warden, in Scarborough). Good choices for the coolish weather we've been having lately.
Delux for the cosy, cool decor, great music and laid back French-ish bistro food. I've had the lamb shanks and steak frites and have eyed the moules and bouillabaise. And be sure to try the crème brûlée. There are some fun bars along the Ossington strip too. Reposado and Crooked Star are ones I particularly enjoy.
If you're stuck out in Scarborough or thereabouts, you can have the best chili chicken in town at Wok with Wu. It's Indian Hakka, or so my foodie friends tell me. And cheap. Splurge on their fried banana with vanilla ice cream.
New Yorker looking for a good burger...
Had a banquet burger, chocolate shake and onion rings at Dairy Freeze on St. Clair West this weekend. Not bad although certainly not haute-burger by any stretch. Process cheese but real (and generous) bacon. The milkshake was one of the better ones I've had in the city and added bonus it's open late (until 4am on weekends).
Cakemaster
R.I.P. indeed. I'll miss their soup(s) with cheese toasts and the poppy seed danishes...
Moroccan Preserved Lemons
I have seen them at Bonjour Brioche on Queen Street East (near Degrassi). But that was a few years ago.
