Green Heart Cafe

I noticed that Green Heart Cafe opened recently (or seemed to) in the space in Worcester briefly occupied by Siggie's. When I went to the door to take a look there was a notice saying something to the effect that they were closed for technical issues. Does anyone know if they are going to open? Also, did anyone frequent them when they were in Collegeville who can give an opinion on this restaurant?

So I just complained to the manager of the montgomeryville wegmans

I've gotten stale bread twice now. I do t know if it's because I buy the already-sliced half loaves, but probably won't get them again.

Anyone been to Maple Acres this summer?

I don't know about tomatoes, but they do have corn.

Blue Bell Inn Grand Reopening 4/7/14

This reminds me of my third and probably last food experience at the BBI. Asked for the wedge salad, which came with shrimp and crabmeat. I asked to get it without the crabmeat. I was told that the shrimp and crab are premixed, and it either had to have both or neither. This from a place with a raw bar. They couldn't just get a few shrimp and throw them on? Customer service seems to be at the bottom of their list.

I don't think they have to put the prices on the website as long as they're on the actual menu.

I doubt it will remain full forever if they don't improve the dining experience. Even though I live close by and had high hopes for them, I hesitate to go now, because the majority of the food I've been served has been mediocre or worse. I can't be the only one.

Plymouth Meeting Mall Lunch

I would recommend Redstone if you want to stay at the mall area. They also have a nice outdoor bar and tables.

I didn't take particular notice. I believe the shrimp and crab cocktail were around $16 each, but can't remember much else

Overcooked. Too early in the morning when I posted. They were a decent size, probably 12-16 or so.

Okay, I'll jump in here. We went last night. The place is beautiful, especially the main bar and the addition, where there is a small bar, indoor tables that can be opened to the beautiful outdoor terrace via glass garage-type doors. The outdoor area has a large fire pit, a waterfall wall, and surprisingly enough, the traffic noise was not intrusive. They really did a great job.

The food had mixed reviews. Our shrimp cocktail was overlooked. Our "colossal" crabmeat cocktail, though tasty enough, bore no resemblance to colossal. It was more like the size of the cans in the supermarket that aren't the jumbo lump. One of our party had the margarita pizza, which he said was good.

For dinner, four of the party had the burgers, which they all said were very good, although the fries that came with them were too salty. I had the special soup, which was mushroom. It was tasty, but not hot enough. The onion rings were good and the side dish of mac and cheese was quite good.

A mixed bag on the food, but if they're going to have a raw bar as a featured menu item, they need to do better with that.

Fleming's Steakhouse, Any Good? (Even with a $40 Gift Card?)

If they have the same happy hour as the one in Radnor, they have 1/2 off appetizers, I think $5.00 burgers until 7:00. They also have some half price drinks. It would certainly make your gift stretch further. I believe they even have happy hour on Saturday nights.

Harry's Blue Bell Tap Room

We went last night. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders did a good job and were personable. We had fried mozzarella with marinara, which we enjoyed. I had the fried grouper sandwich, which unfortunately had been fried to within an inch of its life, so it was pretty dry. Fries for both of our dishes came out cool. My husband said his burger was good. It was very busy, and they are new, so I'll give it another try. The menu is interesting, focused on bacon.

Seeking suggestions this weekend in northwest suburbs

Here's what happened to us: we had made reservations at Bar Savona, asking to be seated in the bar. When we got there for our reservation, the bar was jammed and noisy, with one high-top in the midst of the crowd. We asked if we could be seated on the porch, but they were having a private party.

We ended up being seated in the almost empty restaurant in a small dark, empty room with very small tables. When we asked if we could move to one of the empty, larger tables by the window, we were told we couldn't sit there if we were ordering from the less expensive Bar Savona menu. I was really disturbed by that policy, especially with an empty restaurant. We eventually both ordered from the fine dining menu, at which point they graciously allowed us to move to the larger table by the windows. I wonder what they would have done if only one of us ordered from the fine dining menu.

This is a long-winded way do saying that although the food is good, we won't be going back. I didn't appreciate being treated like a peon because I preferred the Bar Savona menu when I went in.

Driving by I noticed signs for this place in the location where Cravings used to be on Church Street. Is it open? If so, has anyone been?

I would second Unkle Al's advice to avoid Bridget's. They've slid downhill to mediocre in my opinion too.

Shanachie replacement

I'd be pretty certain neither Dunkin' Donuts nor Panera would want that place. How do you run in for coffee or breakfast when you have to drive around for a parking space?

Any local sweet corn yet?

The Maple Acres corn I bought was good, but not near their best, I guess because it's early.

best of the burbs?

Arrogant service at Radice is exactly right. It seemed that if you weren't a friend of the owner or someone who was there two or three times a week, you weren't worth the effort of decent service.

update on Chef Salvatore?

We stopped in ten days or so ago. They didn't have their menu ready yet, but we had a decent pizza. The beer taps that disappeared when it was Chef Salvatore's are back (I don't know why, but that really bothered us). The bartender was very nice. It's called L'Angolo Blue (Blue Corner), and the sign today says they have happy hour from five to seven Monday through Friday. It can't help but be an improvement over what Chef Salvatore's had become.

Springhouse Drafting Room To Be Andy's Diner

Wow, your memory is better than mine. I remember going to the Newport House, but noy Christopher's. It must have been the time of my life when I had no money to spare for dining out.

I think it was The Newport House first. and Pike's predates everything. My grandparents used to take me when I was a little girl back in the fifties (wow, did I just say that?)
