Driving by I noticed signs for this place in the location where Cravings used to be on Church Street. Is it open? If so, has anyone been?

I would second Unkle Al's advice to avoid Bridget's. They've slid downhill to mediocre in my opinion too.

I'd be pretty certain neither Dunkin' Donuts nor Panera would want that place. How do you run in for coffee or breakfast when you have to drive around for a parking space?

The Maple Acres corn I bought was good, but not near their best, I guess because it's early.

Arrogant service at Radice is exactly right. It seemed that if you weren't a friend of the owner or someone who was there two or three times a week, you weren't worth the effort of decent service.

Their sign says their grand opening party is on Thursday.

We stopped in ten days or so ago. They didn't have their menu ready yet, but we had a decent pizza. The beer taps that disappeared when it was Chef Salvatore's are back (I don't know why, but that really bothered us). The bartender was very nice. It's called L'Angolo Blue (Blue Corner), and the sign today says they have happy hour from five to seven Monday through Friday. It can't help but be an improvement over what Chef Salvatore's had become.

Wow, your memory is better than mine. I remember going to the Newport House, but noy Christopher's. It must have been the time of my life when I had no money to spare for dining out.

I think it was The Newport House first. and Pike's predates everything. My grandparents used to take me when I was a little girl back in the fifties (wow, did I just say that?)

If you're talking about the Alistair who then opened the tea shop in Chalfont, he owned/ran the restaurant that was Carolyn's. I can't remember if that's what it was called when they ran it, but it was on the corner of S. Broad St. and Jenkins Avenue. He also worked for a time at the restaurant at Mainland Golf Course.

I've heard Hotel Fiesole in Skippack has a good one. By the way, I haven't had very good meals at Chadwick's.

I guess I just assumed they were closed. I've driven by three or four times and the lot's been empty and the building dark.

I guess the fact that no one commented on Zacharias Creek's closure before this (it's been at least a few weeks) is testament to why it closed.

Just to add to my comment, I know a bartender who worked there and has since left. He was told not to be too friendly with the customers (i.e., talk to them about anything but drink choices).

I'm sorry you had that experience, but it confirms my feeling that the management at Dettera is not particularly interested in making its customers feel welcome. Although it's a beautiful restaurant and the food is good most of the time, I've always felt less than valued there.

I'm with you. My last two visits I thought the food was really mediocre. Here's hoping.

We so miss Distelfink's. We lived in Lansdale for 25 years, and that was the go-to place.

It's in the same shopping center as El Serape, but it's behind the building.

I too visit my parent in Audubon and used to take him out to dinner every Saturday night. After constant tries, we always ended up either on the Main Line or Phoenixville. There really is nothing in the Audubon/Oaks area proper.
