review [De Lara, Wilmington]
Had dinner at the new place that just opened where the old Tuscana used to be.The name is De Lara and it is Mediterranean. The food was excellant and the service was good. I had the ciopino, and my husband had a hamburger. The ciopino was spicy and had lots of perfectly cooked fish and shrimp and scallops, clams and mahi mahi in a tomato broth. My husbands hamburger was also cooked as he ordered it. The prices are reasonable. I will bring my girlfriends back here during the week to try some to the lunch items. The place was not crowded but it is January in Wilmington. The new look is sleek and elegant. A welcome addition to Wilmingtons restaurant sceen.

i have curly hair also....but i also have a hair brush...her hair looks like she took the curlers out and left it that way....she should have time to brush it and blow it..or someone at FN should..i mean shes on tv right..not at walmart shopping

i enjoy food network, have for years..but now its more road shows and competitions than real cooking shows..alton brown is the best thing on the channel..part mad science part chef..next iron chef...john besh IMHO

sounds like you got a bunch of bad clams...i've had some that were terrible salty and had to be discarded...try changing fishmonger...a local place that harvests them daily would be best...how long did you keep them refrigerated. they may have been old

gabagool is really capicola (sp)....either hot or sweet and its a ham product used in sandwich making or in antipasta

chicken cacciatore is very italian....translated it means chicken in the style of the hunters wife..and i believe it is served over pasta or risotto...but this might be the one chicken and pasta dish well know as italian

my favorite cookbook is one by saveur....all italian recipes and beautiful pictures...have made lots of the recipes and all turned out great..its a compolation (sp) with recipes from frank (rao's) emeril (ugh) marcella...lydia....look for it in book stores..you won't be sorry
Question About Pasta Types
i use stale bread thats soaked in water or milk, then rung out...to my meatballs..and i add fresh chopped basil....makes great metaballs...

Not to justify rude waitress but things do cost more here than in NY. Maybe its the unavailabilty of specialty items. or how far they have to travel to get to Wilmington. years ago we couldn't even get this items so I don't mind paying up
