Where to buy Thai brands in Baltimore?
Thanks everyone - I happened to be near Lotte yesterday, so I stopped and looked and they actually had everything I needed!
Where to buy Thai brands in Baltimore?
Hi Chowhounds,
I have a Thai recipe that calls specifically for Thai brands of a few different sauces. Is there a particular place in Baltimore that is likely to carry these? I was under the impression that Hmart and Lotte were primarily Korean so was not sure if they would also stock Thai sauces.
Thanks for your help!
Jasa Kabob in Canton?
They've apparently taken over the space that used to be Py. Has anyone been there? I got a flyer in the mail, and the menu looks yummy (plus they're open late!)
Hudson Street Stackhouse and bar food
Has anyone been? Did they start serving food yet?
Also, FYI to anyone who frequents Mahaffey's nearby, they are going to be starting a food and beer pairing dinner night on Thursday evenings. The idea is they'll have special entrees paired with the current beers for a single price. The food at Mahaffey's is surprisingly good considering the equpiment that the chef has to work with, and I'm interested to see what they do with this.
Affordable but Delicious Caterer??
Where are you located/looking to have the wedding?
New Canton Restaurant - Sauté?
Thank you for posting this! My fiancee and I watched people go in and out all weekend, but it looked so crowded that we decided to wait until they posted a menu before we try it.
One thing I did notice is that people keep parking in the bus stop on the corner and the Baltimore City Parking Authority is having a field day with tickets.
Rehearsal Dinner Suggestions - Baltimore?
Ah! I didn't even think about that! I'm glad you reminded me!
We wanted to have the wedding at Gertrude's originally and our guest list ended up being too large, so maybe the rehearsal dinner would go well there. Thank you!
Rehearsal Dinner Suggestions - Baltimore?
Don't know if we necessarily care if it's private or not - with 40 people and a good number of loud relatives, I'd imagine that other diners would be more bothered by us than us by them :)
I thought about the Bicycle and wasn't sure if they'd do a private event, but maybe I'll ask. We like the food there a lot!
Rehearsal Dinner Suggestions - Baltimore?
Wondering if anyone has some suggestions for a good rehearsal dinner location for about 40 people on a Friday night, preferably in Inner Harbor proper, but alternatively in Mt Vernon? We'd prefer to stay away from Little Italy.
We're hoping for something under $40/person for the food, and it would be a bonus if they offer crab cakes or something similarly "maryland-y". One of my ideas was Tabrizi's, though I haven't been there yet and also haven't tried requesting a proposal so I'm not sure it's in our price range. TIA!
New Canton Restaurant - Sauté?
An update for those that are interested - I drove by today and they have all of the exterior and some of the interior lighting up, as well as some tilework. It looks warm and cozy inside! Still no word on an opening date, unfortunately.
New Canton Restaurant - Sauté?
Exciting! Your google skills surpass mine. Thank you!
New Canton Restaurant - Sauté?
I live about 8 houses away, so I'm not sure if I should be excited or afraid. I previously lived across the street from Salt, which was an interesting experience.
I drive by every day, so I'll keep an eye out and see if they put up any more information.
New Canton Restaurant - Sauté?
We live on Hudson St in the Canton area of Baltimore and noticed that a corner restaurant/bar that has been under construction for some time finally put up a sign indicating that it will be called "Sauté", and they are currently hiring. Does anyone know anything about this place? Unsurprisingly, a google search for a restaurant called "Sauté" in Baltimore doesn't turn up anything very specific. We're curious as it's less than a block away from our house!
Baltimore area caterers?
Tapas gal - thank you! Would you be willing to let me ask you a few questions via email?
Baltimore area caterers?
The wedding is at the AVAM (yay) and the caterers that I mentioned are on the "list". I don't think that The Pantry is, but I will double check. Thanks for your input!
Baltimore area caterers?
I'm planning my wedding in Baltimore and trying to get some feedback on Baltimore caterers. I've tried theknot.com, but most of the girls there are working with different venues that either come with a built-in caterer or don't have restrictions.
Does anybody have any experience with or feedback regarding any of the following caterers:
Absolutely Perfect, Sascha's, Charles Levine, Dionysus' Kitchen, Linwoods
I am having about 150 guests and looking for something mid-range, but my fiancee and I would really like to have unique and well-presented food. I have talked to some of these caterers but have not had tastings yet, and I feel like it's easy to make a menu sound good but it does not guarantee that the caterer will deliver.
Not sure if this is appropriate for this board - just looking for some different perspective - thanks!
Annapolis dinner spot?
I've not been there myself, but Kyma is uber-trendy:

They are a tapas place, so it could be a fun group outing. Right on West street near the bars, so you could go have some drinks afterward if you change your mind about being "classy" ; )
I'd also recommend Lemongrass (nearby) but I don't think it would be quite as fun.
