Beef Brisket with Miso?

Daydreaming the other day, it occurred to me that I should be able to make a brisket with miso as a major flavor component. I can't find a recipe, though, and I don't want to do a lot of experimenting. (I don't have enough time, or enough money, to make lots of bad briskets.) Has anyone seen a recipe for this? Or have thoughts on what the other components should be? Ratios of these components?

Or--maybe you've tried this and know it's gross?

I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have!

Shakshuka for a crowd

Howdy Gang. I'm making a large New Year's Day brunch in just a few days. I'm thinking about making shakshuka--basically eggs poached in spicy tomato sauce. Here's one recipe: http://smittenkitchen.com/2010/04/sha....

I'm not looking for a recipe but rather for some advice with logistics. I'm planning on making the tomato sauce ahead of time; heating it on the stove and then putting it into several large baking pans; cracking the eggs into the sauce and then baking it in oven right before people arrive.

Has anyone done this or anything like it before? How did it work? And--at what temp should I bake the eggs and for how long?

thanks much!

Cuisinart Missing Serial Number

I have a 6 month old 14-cup Cuisinart Food Processor with a broken cover. It was a wedding gift purchased through Crate and Barrel. I called Cuisinart up to request a replacement cover and, when they asked for the serial number from the bottom of my machine, I discovered that I don't have one. There is nothing etched onto the bottom of the machine. There is a sticker with a five digit code, but they said that number cannot be a serial number for a food processor.

I don't want to pay $40 ($32 plus $8 shipping) for a new cover.

Going through my files, I found a note I jotted to myself: Cuisinart CHH 80117. It's almost definitely a code related to registering the FP. However, before I call them up and pretend to be reading this code from the bottom of my machine, I'd like to make it's actually a serial number for a FP, if that makes sense.

Can someone with a 14 cup Cuisinart FP, model number DFP-14BCN look at their serial number and let me know if it resembles 80117?

Or--is anyone else missing a serial number?

Thank you so much.

Need ingredient list for Spatulatta Enchiladas

I recently bought the Spatulatta cookbook for my niece, and we have a date to cook the cheese/veggie Enchiladas in that cookbook tomorrow. Here's the problem--I need to grocery shop today, and I don't have an exactly list of what the enchiladas demand. I don't think I'm going to be able to reach her before I go shopping.

Does anyone have a copy of the cookbook at home? I'd be super-grateful if you could type up a list of ingredients for me!

Thanks!

searching for baked spaghetti recipe

Hi all,

I'm craving my mom's baked spaghetti--it had canned plum tomatoes, angel hair pasta, cheddar cheese. I think it may have originally been from a magazine.

I can't seem to find the recipe. Anyone have anything similar? I need it to be vegetarian and I want something better than "pour bottled spaghetti sauce over pasta, top with cheese, and bake."

thanks!!

Shabbat lunch fish

I'm cooking Shabbat lunch for 6 next weekend and I'd like to include fish. Basically, I need a fish recipe I can make on Friday afternoon and serve on Saturday around 1. I'm thinking poached salmon with a yogurt/mustard/dill sauce. Has anyone had experience with this? What did you poach the salmon in? Did you serve it cold or room temp? Was it good or did it get fishy-tasting?

many thanks!
