Dinner before Lion King at 8pm
First time in NYC.
Looking for a classic delicious meal before the show tonight. Would like to go somewhere that is classic NYC, but not necessarily touristy. Don't care if it is touristy--just has to be good food and drink. We like all kinds of foods, probably want to stay away from italian as we are going to Babbo tomorrow night.

Last time I was there I had the sliced steak and it came with some type of creole sauce. It was delicious. I want to make it. Anybody know the ingredients?

I enjoy going to Jimmy's all the time for sandwiches and everything else italian. I have always wanted to go to one of the wine dinners that they host. I wanted to see if anybody has ever attended on of those and if so, what the experience was like...

NY Strip.......What to do?
I bought a massive 2 lb, 2in thick Prime NY Strip to cook tonight for V Day. I am looking for suggestions on the best way to prepare it i.e. seasoning, cooking, etc. I will not have access to a grill, so I need to prepare it inside some way. Thanks for the ideas!!
