The Squeaky Bean is back and The Post loved it

Has anyone hit the new Squeaky Bean? Bill Porter in The Denver Post gave it the paper's first 4-star review in 7 years which would make it the best restaurant in the city, less than a month after opening.

Denver - dinner in the Highlands

Linger and Root Down are great spots in the Highland neighborhood, especially during patio weather. Not sure if they fit your definition of moderate-inexpensive. The patio at Lola is fun but I prefer brunch there. Spuntino just reopened with a full dinner menu but I haven't tried it yet.

Denver trip report: Rioja, TAG, Euclid Hall, Bittersweet, Fruition, La Sandia, Jus’ Cookin, The Truffle

Euclid Hall is owned by Jennifer Jasinski and Beth Gruitch who also own Rioja and Bistro Vendome on the same block.

I think the OP is confusing The Squeaky Bean with its Highland neighbor Root Down. The Bean reopens late spring at 15th and Wynkoop in LoDo's Saddlery Building. Root Down remains open for biz.

Rioja or Root Down Under

For Rioja, no cab necessary if you're anywhere downtown. The free shuttle on the 16th Street Mall gets you anywhere and Rioja is a short walk from the Larimer stop.

Breakfast in downtown Denver?

Only Sam's is close to the Sheraton. Snooze is around 8 longish blocks from the Sheraton after you take the free mall shuttle to Larimer Street. Racines is further although the same folks own Dixons at 16th and Wazee, right on the 16th Street Mall.

Denver Restaurant

This sounds like the 6th Avenue space that is currently Fruition but might have been Claire de Lune or Somethin' Else a few years back, depending on your definition of a few years.
