Need restaurant for business group

We are going to be in Buenos Aires for a meeting and need to do three nights of dinners. Upscale, if possible. International group including South Americans. I think we will do Cluny one night but I would like suggestions for the other two nights. The Four Seasons has suggested La Brigata ,Orvieto sand Savor. Does anyone have any suggestions? I was leaning toward Cabana Las Lillas because that is where people like to eat but it is certainly not my favorite.

Need a nice restaurant near Sky city Auckland

Thanks. The adult children want to make the res so it will be very interesting.

Need a nice restaurant near Sky city Auckland

We will be in auckland for a couple of days and have one night that we could go somewhere nice. I am taking some adult children of friends that live in Auckland so they will have a car. I don't want them to spend too much time driving us around so I thought it would be best if we ate close to our hotel. Have heard mixed reviews on Depot and Clooney's. Any suggestions?

Chinese restaurants

We are coming to Vancouver in May and hear that the Chinese restaurants are fabulous. We are staying downtown. Are there any that take reservations? Are there any that are slightly upscale but still good? We will have a car but are not crazy about driving in strange places at night.

Marthas Vineyard in mid May

It will be somewhat diificult to find nice restaurants that have less than 25 dollar entree tabs. It is very expensive to move food to the Vineyard and they have a short season. Some restaurants will not even be open. Edgartown is probably the most expensive of the towns. Lantanzi's has a pizza restaurant that is quite good if they are open. There are casual places-News from America and the Wharf Pub that locals frequent. In Oak Bluffs there are tons of fast food and casual places but most of them are not great. Linda Jean's is a diner kind of place that I like and Coop de Ville is a fun lobster place. They have a special on Tuesdays. The Ocean View is an old time locals place that is nice but close to the top of your budget. None of these is hip. I think Jimmy Seas is out of your budget or close to it. but it has very good pasta and that is all they have.

Where to eat in Puerto Vallarta now?

We just came back from PV yesterday and I think people's take on El Arrayan are correct. Not terrible but not good either. Very nice people but the food was just"ok".
The Red Cabbage was the hands down favorite. Everything was good. The mole and the grilled shrimp were great. Dacquiri Dicks was fine. I love the setting and the food is very good. Our hotel recommended Tintos and I would never go again. Food was sub par and the hostess kept trying to get us to go to a time share presentation. Marisocos 8 Tostados near the marina made a fabulous lunch. My other favorite was Bucerias. We took a cab down for a few hours and had lunch at Mariscos Gordo. (Fatboy Seafood.) For me it was the best meal of the trip. Grilled lobster, snapper and giant shrimp. What could be better. Not fancy but just good,
It was cool especially in the morning.

Arrival Night Dinner

Olives was one of our worst meals as well. as we stay at the Bellagio we tried twice. The hostess was beyond rude. she claimed we did not have a reservation and finally agreed to call the conceirge desk who made them for us. She had a huge screaming fight and finally slammed down the phone and seated us. We had a less than average meal. Would you believe it? the same thing happened the next time. I don't need to do THAT again.

Columbus,Indiana

I am going to answer my own question. We ate at Bistro 310 in the center of columbus. Very friendly and the food was fine.Locally sourced and the desserts were wonderful. Stay simple and i think you will enjoy it. The chicken was great. Had brunch at Demetri's and it was a very good Greek diner.

Where on the UES?

Looking for new choices in Vegas: advice?

Interesting. I have grown kids who are not foodies and i think the food is the most reliable on the Strip for what it is. It is not the best thing I have ever put in my mouth but it is straightforward food. Not salty. I would have sent that back in a second. I don't find it corporate at all. We eat there almost every year.

New Wynn venues to open

We also loved DB and have not yet found a restaurant to take its place. Our grown kids are not into fashion forward food so Alex does not work for us. DB was a great choice for all of us ,foodies and not. Sigh...
I am hoping Lakeside Grill might fill that niche, When is the opening date?

Coming to New York from Chicago.

I guess taps and small plates are the thing in New York. They are not my favorite, It says that a 3 course meal at Daniel is $105. That does not sound so bad although I did not really want to go that fancy. I might do Bar Baloud. I have eaten at DB Brasserie and liked it. I guess I wa looking for something like Anissa or Veritas.

Has anyone eaten in any of the restaurants in Columbus,Inidana? We are going to view all the interesting archetecture that they have, There are several restaurants but I don't know one from the other. Thanks.

Coming to New York from Chicago.

Two years ago the kind people from Chowhound sent me to Anissa,Esca and Hearth. I loved them all. We are coming back and already have reservations at Anissa but would love another small upscale place like it. I don't think I am in the Daniel category although I really don't know if it is all that pricey.Any suggestions? Not Asian,I think.

Recs for Smaller, Chef-Driven Restaurants with Great Food

That is the funniest thing I have ever heard.Who exactly eats there? I guess this would come under "only in New York".

Christmas eve and day in Las Vegas

We always go to LV at Christmas and we always eat at Delmonico's on the 25th. As at any LV restaurant it can be uneven but after 10 or so times I think more up than down. Lovely service and food that will appeal to everyone. You do need to reserve in advance.

St. John USVI food rteport

We just came back from 6 days in St. John. I know it is not a restaurant mecca but I think it was better than three years ago. We ate at Zozos twice. I think it is the best of the bunch. Fresh fish, lovely salads and a wonderful shellfish stew. They also have parking.
Waterfront Bistro was fine, I always stick to the local fish and it was good but not wildly creative. I also had an avocado and cucumber soup that was fine. It is a lovely location and the service was good.
The Fish Trap was fine although I wish they would serve plain grilled fish rather than trying so hard. It is informal and as long as you pick local stuff it is perfectly acceptable.
We had lunch at Caneel Bay Grill at the resort. It is much, much better than the dreadful buffet. Excellent hamburger and a very good chicken Cesear with freshly cooked chicken
.The locals all liked Rhumlines so we tried it. It was not great. My husband had the local lobster and although expensive it was fine. I had tuna and found the sauce cloying.
We also tried the restaurant above the Starfish market called Plancha del Mar, I think. It was quite cute run by three young guys. However, ambiance is really bare bones. No fresh fish(?) so we had a steak which was not all that cheap. However, it was plated very nicely and it actually was very good. Good salad as well. We ate there since it was pouring rain and just a short ride from the hotel.

Has anyone eaten at Lavo?

I saw a review in Gourmet a while back and we are holding reservations over the holidays for dinner before a show. My grown kids like Italian and do not eat pork or shellfish so B and B was out.

Need pre theater restaurant (Las Vegas)

We are going to see Rita Rudner and I need a place for dinner before the show. I have done DB and was very happy but thought i would try somewhere else. We are also going to Delmonico's and Bouchon so I would like a place that is not just steak. I will be with my adult children who are somewhat picky eaters(sigh). Any ideas. Nothing too fancy for this group but I think I will skip burger Bar.

Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca -- June 2009 report

I am from Chicago and i was on the board looking for a place for our next trip. I can't imagine a restaurant lasting very long in Chicago with this kind of treatment. I am sure that the OP should have not been late. I am also sure it might have been better to just say we can't accept you and offer another solution. I am sure this will not be one of my choices.

Steve's Deli -- They've worked out the bugs and I am very happy

I wiull try again. i wanted it to be good...

Alfredo Gran San Bernado,Bebel or Antica Trattoria Della Pesa

I am trying to figure out some restaurants for our trip to Milan. I like nice but not over the top. i have to take some people out so i would like some place that has good service as well as good food. i have come up with these three in no particular order. we are staying at the Marriott but it doesn't have to nearbye as i understand not much is.

Need a restaurant in Milan for business dinner for 8

We are going to a meeting in Milan in early June and need to take some people out to dinner. I would like nice with talbecloths kind of place but not over the top( business climate being what it is today.)The meeting is at the Marriott. Anyone have any suggestions? .

Dining near Art Institute/Orchestra Hall?

The Gage would work for either but i would ask for a table in the back. They have a large menu that ranges from burgers to fabulous fish or even a steak. We eat before the concert since we can't stay up that late but i am sure that people do eat there after.

6-1 Tomatoes in Western Suburbs

I buy them at Treasure Island.

Terrible French Laundry Visit 2/18/09

I had a similar experience to the poster and did send two things back since they were ice cold. they did give us an extra course but no one said a word. I did not think everything was as it should be and we did actually complain very gently. Too gently, I guess. I sent a letter afterward and it was six weeks before I received a very snooty reply to the effect that it must be me...

Restaurant Week 2009

We ate at three restaurants during RW this year
Café des Architectes was fabulous. i had very much the same menu as nsxtasy and was blown away.
The Gage- very interesting menu and well done. Fabulous dessert
Old Town Brasserie- Nice, simple menu but well done. However, the choices were the least interesting of the three.

Cafe des Architectes and one sixtyblue

I had a great RW meal there as well. The pork belly appetizer was wonderful. I love their bread and everything I ate was lovely. That was a real deal. We have also dined there and had their pre-fixe menu. We live three blocks away and eat there often.
