Don Alex and Tambo's, dueling anticucherias in Corona

There is also a Don Alex on 37th Ave and 95th st that is very good. We've had rotissirie chicken, chupe de camaron and the parihuela there. All were excellent! (and humungous.)

Good cheap delivery sushi Elmhurst/Jackson Heights

I thought good cheap delivery sushi was an oxymoron (the cheap vs. the good) and am always a little leery of ordering sushi delivery from a restaurant I have never been in, but I wanted to let you chowhounds know I was pleasantly surprised by Oz in Elmhurst. The sushi regular is around $8.50, and the chirashi (my personal fave) was $12.95. It was not the best I've ever had, but perfectly tasty, and on a desperate night with a 5 month old baby in the house and no food in sight, it did the trick.

Thai Delivery Eastern Jackson Heights?

Does anyone know of a Thai restaurant that will deliver east of 86th street? I am at 92nd, and we seem to be in the no-man's land. I checked NY mag's thai listings, and there seem to be some that stop in Elmhurst that stop at Roosevelt, and then the Woodside and JH ones stop at 82nd or 86th.

Argentine Food in Jackson Heights

Like to throw in my 2 cents for the really good Argentine empanadas at La Cancha, the pizzeria on 90th at Roosevelt. I have not tried the pizza, but it is also Argentine-style.

Cinco de Mayo suggestions?

I'm open to anywhere in Manhattan, close Brooklyn or Queens! Alma sounds great. I love Mama Mexico too, so maybe that's the way to go. Will probably be packed though!

Food recs for the area around Junction BLVD, Queens?

There is a great Salvadorean restaurant called Tierras Salvadorenas at 94-16 37th Ave, a couple of blocks off of Junction on 37th. Very tasty pupusas and generous portions.

Best Mexican in Queens?

I am a huge fan of Tacos Mexico at 88-12 Roosevelt. They have all around good authentic food. Special faves are the quesadillas, tortas, and my very fave are the tostadas de camaron y pulpo. Very tasty on a hot day.

My favorite tacos in Queens are from the truck on Queens Blvd near 39th/40th Street (in front of the North Fork bank I think) which comes out weekend evenings/all through the night. They are definitely better than the ones from the truck in the 50s in Woodside, and better than most that you would get at a sit-down restaurant.

Cinco de Mayo suggestions?

Anyone know of an inexpensive/moderate place (bar/restaurant) with a Cinco de Mayo celebration? Looking for less of a frat atmosphere and more yummy good Mexican food, drink specials, and preferably mariachis.

Tapas in Jackson Heights?

I've passed a few places that claim to be tapas bars or at least serve tapas along Northern Blvd. and 37th Avenue, but haven't tried any. Does anyone have any tapas recommendations? They don't need to be authentically Spanish, just tasty.

Peruvian in Queens

I also like El Sol, which has your yummy corn, and also some good dishes. I liked the seco de chivo a lot, but found the chicken in another dish a little dry. Pio Pio is the best rotisserie chicken I've ever had, and is also right there on Northern Blvd. I've also been to Inti Raymi - 86-14 37th Ave, which has good fried rice style dishes. I'm pretty sure they would have your cancha as well, but I can't remember for sure.
