Tried and True birthday cake recipes
So what is the crazy cake recipe? Sounds amazing and I'd like to give it a try!
Toby's Public House
I agree that the pizza at Toby's is quite good but the prices are not justified. For a bar where people are drinking and watching games, the pizzas need to be less expensive to justify having dinner there. And I agree that having a $15 minimum per person at this kind of establishment does not seem right. I don't know that I will go back there unless the prices come down.
Chillis and Chocolate
I've been there for lunch and really loved everything I had. It is not a place to go if you are in a rush but the food is excellent and it's very charming.
Seeking venue for small family dessert party
No, I don't think the one year old will be eating ice cream but I thought it would be fun for everyone else. Who knows, maybe she will try it? She just started eating solid foods a month ago so we'll have to see. I do like Sweet Melissa and Downtown Atlantic baked goods, though I've never had their food and have heard mixed things about it from others. Those are good ideas, thanks.
Seeking venue for small family dessert party
I am seeking a venue for a small family party for my daughter's first birthday in Brooklyn. Ideally I would like a bakery or ice cream parlor where we can sit around one big table, will not be rushed and will have good food without breaking the bank. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Quality Malt Powder
I am pretty sure I have seen this for sale at The Chip Shop in Park Slope (an English fish 'n chip shop). I would imagine you could also get it at one of the other British resturants elsewhere in the city: A Salt and Battery, Tea and Sympathy, etc. Good luck.
Looking for compact microwave and toaster oven recommendations
I am looking to replace our very old and worn-looking microwave and toaster ovens with new, stainless steel ones with an equally small footprint. I have not found anything small enough to fit where we need them to and I'm not sure such small machines are made anymore. We do not need a convection toaster, just a regular old toaster oven and a basic microwave without too many bells and whistles. The toaster oven I use now I've had since college and it works just fine and the microwave I got a few years after college graduation and it too looks fine, I just want to update the look for the 21st century and to match the rest of my kitchen. Any suggestions?
Where to eat in Long Island wine country?
I am looking for a great place to have lunch in Long Island's wine country on a weekday. Any suggestions?
Best countertop surfaces
We are thinking of buying a condo with a kitchen with white quartz countertops. I am not sure whether it is fabricated or "natural" stone and I can't get an answer from the broker. It certainly looks more fabricated as it has a very even pattern and the underside looks man-made. My question is: does anyone have experience with this type of countertop? Is it durable? Will the white color be a problem in termms of staining and what kind of maintenance will be needed?
