I am looking for recommendations for a good lunch salad bar in the Logan Square / Old Irving Park area. My company relocated and I have yet to find a salad bar for lunch! It doesnt have to be a sit down place as I often will grab lunch and bring it back to work and although I have found some good salads in general, I am missing the variety of a salad bar. Thanks!
I use Dreamfields all the time and love it! (My picky husband can't tell the difference either) I've used it in Tuna casseroles, mac n cheese, fettuccini alfredo, and even throw some in my minestrone. Luckily my local grocery store stocks many varieties (elbow, spiral, mostaccoli, angel hair, fetuccini).
Thank you for all the suggestions! I suppose I could use fresh clams, however I've never prepared them myself to use in any recipes so I'd probably have to experiment a little first. The only time I endulge in Linquine with Clams is when I order it out, but I would love to see the recipe mentioned, then I could start making it at home more often. YUM!
I am attempting to make Linguine with Clams for my brother's birthday this Sunday (his favorite) and the recipe I have calls for a can of chopped clams in juice. Unfortunately I am not familiar with buying canned clams. Is there a good brand out there that someone could recommend? Or maybe one that uses better quality clams or tastes better then others?
Do you know if that China House is associated with the new one that opened on Main Street immediately south of Roosevelt? We recently had food there and it was terrible. It reminded us of "mall" Chinese food they gave nice big portion sizes but we were dissapointed in the flavor and texture of the food (way too saucy and the meat seemed kinda fake).
My husband and I frequent Lom Ling's in Lombard (we LOVE the mongolian beef and moo shoo pork there) however they do not deliver, and sometimes we're just to darned lazy to go out and pick up food. I'm looking for really good Cinese food we can have delivered. (we live in Lombard) We've tried a few that were just aweful (too thick heavy sauce, too much corn starch, bland flavor, strange meat texture) so now I am desperately looking for recommendations before we are disappointed again. We are not looking for any dishes in particular (I like spicy my husband does not) but good pot stickers and crab rangoon are a must! And if we find Mongolian beef made similar to the way Lom Ling's makes thiers my husband will be ecstatic!
My husband and I spent our honeymoon near Portland, and also ate at the Steakhouse in Wells - It was the best steak dinner we've ever had! (we live in Chicago) We even went back 2 days in a row and waited nearly 2 hours to be seated (my husband normally would not even wait 20 min for a table) We plan to return one day just to go back there to eat, Highly Recommended!!!
My husband and I have always enjoyed La Campana on Army Trail Rd in Bloomingdale. (accross the street from Stratford Square Mall in the same strip mall area as Walmart / Best Buy) The atmosphere is nice and we've never been disapointed with the service. It is fairly inexpensive and the food has always been consistent. I personally love the steak tacos and my husband always tries something new and is satisfied. I would recommend giving this one a try.
