Menu Suggestion - Egg In a Jar or Duck Egg and more eggs?
Egg in a jar, hands down one of my favorites in the city. I just blogged about 5 great NYC egg dishes on my site, foodie international, and that made the list! Enjoy your meal.
East Village Indian update needed
I second Banjara. Every time I venture out to try some new place I'm profoundly disappointed. I've been in the general area for 11 years and Banjara is by far the most delicious Indian food out there in the East Village.
Reservation Mermaid Inn EV question
Last week I ate at Mermaid Inn and they are having a great early-bird deal. You get a beer, a lobster roll and french fries for $20. I believe the deal is on weekdays at dinner til 7:00PM. I highly recommend it. I will be going back for more next week!
So that's not a RW special, but it is a good deal in the early-bird future to think about.
Where Would You Eat After 2 AM In Manhattan?
At 2:00AM I find myself having Doner Kebab sandwiches at Bereket in the East Village, or cocktails and macaroni and cheese at Cafeteria in Chelsea.

Momofoku Milk Bar
The Cinnamon Bun Pie is a dream come true. I keep thinking about it! I've tried three milkshakes with different ice cream flavors - Chocolate Malt, Root Beer Float, and Fruity Pebbles. The Chocolate Malt ice cream was my favorite of the three.
I live 10 blocks away and it's becoming such a bad habit I think they need to start Momofuku rehab.
La Esquina
I actually really enjoy the food at La Esquina (downstairs restaurant not cafe) especially the ceviche and huitlecoche quesadillas. I've eaten at the restaurant multiple times without a reservation, never had an issue. Is this for a large party? If it's 4 people or less I would just go there in person, say you want to have a drink at the bar. Once you're downstairs put your name on the waiting list. It won't be more than 30 minutes even on a busy night.
stuffed artichoke
The pizza place on 14th does indeed have stuffed artichokes! I haven't tried them yet but if they are as good as the pizza, it will be worth it to try.
Problems with Yasuda reservation - devastated
Thank you all so much for your advice. I feel that I've read countless reviews of Yasuda-san similar to that of Delucacheesemonger and while I would normally welcome experience by a different chef, this is a special dinner, a no budget, no food limitation experience. Therefore I made the decision to reschedule, but by a serious sushi miracle the restaurant just called my friend and said there had been a mix-up with our reservation, that we would be able to be seated in front of Yasuda-san and they could get us in at 8:00PM.
I am sure that all the sushi chefs at Yasuda are incredible, but I do want the educational culinary experience that Yasuda-san is famous for providing diners. I'm sure this meal will be spectacular, and the next time I return to Yasuda the seat may not be as important. I know on the Chowhound board that people have recommended other chefs at the restaurant.
Thank you for your advice. I can't wait for the meal.
Problems with Yasuda reservation - devastated
A week ago my friend and I made a reservation for tomorrow (Thursday January 15th) at 9:00PM to sit in front of Master Yasuda. We were given the 90 minute time limit. This was our holiday gift to one another, an experience I've wanted for a long time. The restaurant called her today to confirm the reservation and told her we would not be in front of Master Yasuda, that we did not specify that in the reservation. Of course she did. I am devastated to spend this much money and not get the experience that I've waited months for. Should we cancel? How can we avenge being so terribly wronged in this situation? I want to be sick right now. Any advice? Any other sushi chefs worthy to sit in front of there? What would you do?
Solo diner in Manhattan for Thanksgiving Day
Nederslandslady - there are still openings (OPENINGS!!!!) at Momofuku Ko for Thanksgiving dinner. Good luck and have a fabulous Thanksgiving (I'm almost ready to cancel family plans and go Ko)
Bachelorette Dinner
What about Artisanal? That's a great place for a Bachelorette dinner (went to one last week) or Asia de Cuba.
Campbell Apartment for drinks in that area to start the evening would be special too.

Good and fun (but not noisy) in East Village or LES?
Degustation is the first thing that comes to mind in the not noisy category.
Where Would You Eat After 2 AM In Manhattan?
I always enjoy Cafeteria in Chelsea for a late evening bite. Their mac and cheese is my favorite in the city and I've never had a disappointing meal there.
Caviar tasting for a first timer?
If she's 21 she might really enjoy Pravda. It used to be a popular bar/lounge, but now that it's not as popular I enjoy it much more. They've got caviar and other russian-style snacks as well as a good selection of vodkas. They've got a tasty american sturgeon service which will not break the bank, and the atmosphere is lively, unlike stuffy Caviar Russe (though their tasting menu is fantastic).
Need Recommendation in Murray Hill Area...
Bar Milano? I hear it's really making a splash in the 'hood.

Wine Bars for Grownups in Flatiron area?
They could always walk over to the Gramercy Park hotel and have a drink in the Jade Bar. The Rose Bar is gorgeous but they close it to non-guests and many people after 7:00PM. If they were to have a pre-dinner drink, then the Rose Bar is a fabulous place to watch people.
On Irving Place near 17th Street, there is Cibar (but it gets loud and somewhat crowded) and directly across the street, a new wine bar, Pierre Loti. Also in the vicinity, I've enjoyed a cocktail at the W Hotel lobby on 17th and Park.
I agree with Flatiron Lounge as a terrific drinking spot.
Also might be fun for them to have a glass at the bar of CraftBar.

Best Chicken Pot Pie?
Waverly Inn has the best Chicken Pot Pie I've ever had in my life. I do know it's one of their signature dishes but I am not sure if it is a seasonal dish.

Brussels Sprouts
I agree that Alta's are incredible. I've gone numerous times just for the brussel sprouts - and sometimes they even sell out! This post is making me hungry. Please try Alta's and report back here!
Weekday lunch in the West Village
My favorite WV lunch spot is Cafe Cluny. The food is fantastic, great people watching, quiet vibe and they have french press tea.

Quality food with a TV???
Waterfront Ale House. Amazing pub style food with some interesting wild game specials. I love the pulled pig, onion soup, brauenwurst, venison chili, etc. Plus TVs from virtually every angle. The bonus is the unique, constantly changing beer menu. It's on 2nd Ave at 30th St.
It's one of my favorite casual restaurant/pubs in the city.

Momofuku Ko - won't someone please write about dinner
I got a 9:45PM solo spot next thursday - if you're still dining, I'll wave hi!!
Solo Dining . . . tips?
I love dining alone sometimes for a change of pace, and I'm always thankful to live in a city where it's a real option. Most places I enjoy have bar seating, which makes it comfortable to sit alone and strike up the occasional conversation with fellow diners or the restaurant staff.
My favorite solo spot is Casa Mono (17th and Irving) at the bar. I love the wine and the menu is so creative - with the smaller plates it's easy to try several options.
I've enjoyed the omokase at Morimoto (at the bar)
I've dined at Craft and Craftbar (both at the bar) - I prefer Craftbar for solo dining.
I just snagged a solo reservation at Momofuku Ko this morning so we'll see how that goes next week...
Have fun!!
Sushi around Union Square
Yama does not deliver. I usually call as I am heading home to pick it up.
New to 19th and 2nd, need good delivery options
I'm a block away from you.
I always get Posto's pizza, and I'm a huge fan of their house salad.
La Tina's Comida Latina has decent latin/mexican food
Limon on 24th has fantastic Turkish food and super fast delivery
For sushi I just call Yama at 17th and 3rd on my way home and pick up the order, it's superior to anyone delivering in this area.
I love Essa Bagel but I've never called for delivery
New York Burger Co. Burgers and Blue 9 also delivers
For fast food (no haters please!) Papa John's is on 24th and 2nd
Havana Central near Union Square delivers to our area
S'Mac for artery clogging-ly good mac and cheese
For fast food mexican I opt for San Loco on 7th and 2nd Ave
Chicken -- LES
It's not on LES exactly, but Birdie's at 9th Street and 1st Ave has AMAZING chicken. I've gotten delivery from them and was extremely impressed at the quality and taste.
Foie Gras?
Bouchon!!!! You can buy it straight from the take out or at the seating area they have at the TWC. It's relatively cheap and a huge portion in a tub. So it's what Lynny Lynny suggested, but the casual cheap version.
small plate / tapas
I'll third Alta. I am completely addicted to their brussel sprouts.
