Where to eat near the Westin Westminster between Denver and Boulder

Yes! The Faire is fantastic. Tibet's is another place outside of downtown Louisville that I forgot about but is good (and had a booth at the Faire last year).

I try to resist those ice cream sandwiches but I have enjoyed one in the past. I usually do a kid size cone to get just enough. Gotta love the Mooooo Mobile too. Ice cream truck with awesome ice cream.

I will warn you that Lucky Pie and Sweet Cow are sometimes a madhouse. They're kind of the place in Louisville. I've had a few occasions when they were looking at hour waits and I can walk a block up the street to Lulu's and get right in.

The Rex isn't really a foodie spot but has a great rooftop patio and edible food.

I'll put in a plug for the even closer town of Louisville. Empire Lounge, Zucca, Lucky Pie and LuLu's BBQ are favorites. Sweet Cow ice cream is amazing.

where can I get great sticky buns in Denver?

Wow, I haven't a clue where to find them but you just instantly took me back to childhood special weekend mornings when my stepmom would take us to a cafe in Boise called Le Poulet Rouge where we indulged in some amazing sticky buns. Thanks for taking me back to that memory!

Boulder - Picnic food to take to Rocky Mountain National Park

I would say Whole Foods or Alfalfa's markets. I'm not sure if any places liked Cured, Dish gourmet or the like are open that early.

Boulder, CO

Yes, Memorial Day weekend here is absolutely packed. The Bolder Boulder is a 10k race that brings 50,000 plus runners and their families to the area. Yes, that's more than the NYC marathon in a city of less than 300,000. Needless to say it can be very very busy.

If I were traveling in I would look at restaurants that specialize in using local products and produce such as Frasca, Salt, Colterra (actually in Niwot) and The Kitchen. All have been reviewed here before.

Vail - romantic, not too pricey, open Sunday night?

What do you consider not too pricey? Where are you staying?

Marmite/Vegemite in Boulder?

I feel like maybe I've seen it at Peppercorn in the past. I've never looked at WF though.

Dinner in Denver. 17th street?

Stueben's is a good option over there. Of note, there is both a 17th Street and a 17th Avenue. Watercourse is on 17th Avenue so I suspect that's where you were.

Lamb Bacon

Lamb bacon? OMG!!!! Glad Cut was able to get it for you. Now I want some!

Driving from Denver Int'l to Vail

Agreed - you're thinking of Kermits and it probably said Idaho Springs rather than Colorado Springs as the exit is just before Idaho Springs.

I was also going to suggest Cut for meat in Vail Valley.

Tommyknocker Brewery and Beau Jo's are thoughts for food en route and both are in Idaho Springs. I've never eaten at Beau Jo's but it's kind of a Colorado institution.

Best Pisco Sours in Denver?

That is a good point. Pisco is a lot more readily available now than it was 15 years ago. I can even get it at my corner liquor store in Louisville. Although a good pisco sour isn't made with sour mix so unless a bartender is familiar with with the lemon juice/sugar/egg white combo it may not be a good one.

Best Pisco Sours in Denver?

I think I've been there and while it wasn't my favorite it was fine. I think. It's been awhile. Sorry! Where are you from?

Best Pisco Sours in Denver?

Now this is a quest I can get in on! I lived in Chile and they are a favorite. I think my favorite so far have been at Aji in Boulder. But I don't like the nutmeg they put on top which isn't traditional in Chile so I ask them to keep it off.

Boulder, CO Steakhouse

Well, I haven't seen their menu since their website requires me to give an email address in order to view it I had no idea what kind of veggie options (other than eating a bunch of sides) they had. Where I think the veggie issue comes in is a group that wants to go and has a lone veggie then they may choose to go to a place with more options.

Boulder, CO Steakhouse

Yeah, that prices me right out of their market although I'm sure I'm not their target market. It will be interesting to see if they are successful in a place that seems to have a high percentage of vegetarian/vegan eaters.

Oh, wow, I had no idea that Tahona and Sushi Tora were related. I enjoy both although I haven't been to Tahona in quite some time.

What Happened to My Beans?

I agree that you probably got a mix of ages of beans. But rather than buying at stores I buy all my dried beans from Rancho Gordo. So delicious!

Recommendation for Sunday afternoon lunch/brunch in Boulder?

I just drooled all over my keyboard. That looks amazing.

ISO child friendly restaurants in Boulder that can also work with allergies...

There are many of who want a Trader Joes. I've heard that it's just too far from distribution centers.

As far as no citrus we just don't grow it around here. It's not the right climate. And we're really at the end of our growing season (9+ inches of snow yesterday) so fruit is definitely dwindling.

Snooze in Boulder

Oh, thanks for the reminder and update. I'll have to try to make it in one of these Sundays before ski season ramps up.

I thought Trolley meant the sushi/izakaya style of food/eating not Sushi Den or Izakaya Den restaurants.

I really like Amu and was taken there the first time by a native Japanese woman I work with so you may be pleasantly surprised. Of course, she lives here now so she may be picking the best of the options but I wouldn't hesitate to try it.

must eat Denver

Hehe, I was running a half marathon 2 days later (we were in Denver for the race expo), I figured I didn't really care that night. And I got the apple caraway slaw to go with it so I had a little veggie too. But one thing I did like is that the portions there weren't out of control big but not so small you feel like you want more.

must eat Denver

I finally had a chance to eat at Euclid Hall last week and highly recommend. Delicious duck poutine! My friends had lamb poutine and chicken and waffles, both of which were very good as well but I think mine was the winner.

Corporate dinner for 25 in Boulder - good food?

This may not be the best but I like it and they should be able to accomodate your size group but my first thought was The Med. Other thoughts are Flagstaff (although I don't know if it would meet your budget).

Follow-Up Report--Denver/Boulder/Colorado Springs

Good to know! Like I said, I'm planning to hit the other places as it gets cooler and I want a hot soup on a weekend day.

Follow-Up Report--Denver/Boulder/Colorado Springs

Black Pepper Pho is on Pearl at 28th in the shopping center where Ultimate Electronics used to be. I've been a couple of times and enjoyed the food but I am not at all experienced in pho so I can't compare. I'm hoping to make it to some of the well regarded places in Broomfield and on Federal as the weather cools off to do a better comparison.

Tipping - How do you feel about tip jars?

The one that kills me is the local self-serve frozen yogurt place. Really? I served myself. All you did is swipe my credit card. No, you are not getting a tip.

Whole Foods on Pearl Street/Boulder Has Finished Its Expansion

Good to know. I have avoided it lately as I just couldn't handle the mess and everything kept moving around.

North of Denver

Louisville really does have a number of good places. In addition to Empire Lounge I'd suggest Zucca for Italian and Lucky Pie for pizza. And Sweet Cow for fabulous ice cream. Spice China is good chinese although I don't eat much Chinese so I may not be a good judge. We have a new bbq place but I've not yet been and haven't heard any reviews yet. I would say that if you want decent service avoid Cactus Grill.
