A little motor boat picked us up in Santo Domingo. He drove us down the shore about 10 minutes to a large hut on the beach. A man had his head buried in the sand like an ostrich. He got it. This is Captain Cook's. We approached the large cooler and took a look inside. As we stood there marveling at the array of local seafood, a fisherman approached and dropped a still suffocating red snapper in with the other assorted sea life. I picked up a wooden board and quickly slammed my snapper on it. A few prawns as well. I handed the board to the guy manning the grill and took as seat under the loose fish net canopy. A bottle of rum was ordered and brought to the table promptly, followed by a plate of home fries and salad. About 15 minutes later the fish and prawns arrived. It became the best meal I ever ate. Now I must wipe the saliva dripping from the corner of my mouth.
