Restaurants near Champs Elysees for trip with mum
I will be visiting Paris for work at the end of June and staying on for a few days, with my mum. We will be staying near the Champs Elysees (Hotel California) and I am looking for a few suggestions for places that are easy to get to e.g. a short walk or easy metro trip. My mum is fairly mobile but am sure after a day sightseeing she'll have sore feet and be tired.
We are open to cuisine but as we're in Paris I am thinking some nice traditional french bistros. Also, I live in New York so have plenty of choice at home. We are not on a budget per se but my mum won't want to spend to much on food so no fine dining. Many thanks in advance.
Ideas for Saturday night
We have family in town this weekend, visiting from the UK. They have been several times but will likely not be back for a while after this trip. We have a dinner booked for Friday evening at Perilla (they are big foodies so should be good) but for Saturday we wanted to do something a little different - something fun, and a bit of a NY experience. To give you some idea we were thinking of along the lines of Rolfs during the holidays, Tao (they've been before). Have been racking my brains for ideas but haven't come up with anything. Thanks in advance.
Pre-Degustation drinks
Off to Degustation this evening for dinner and wondering if anyone had recommendations for pre-dinner drinks? I was thinking that Angel's Share looked nice but in the event I can't locate it (I understand it is quite difficult to find) I was wondering of anyone could suggest other venues. Thanks in advance
italian food, best inexpensive,modrate,expensive?
I second Crispo - had an excellent meal there on Friday night.
London help for an NY hound
I'm going to be spending a couple of days in London next week (mainly located in the City but will travel). Looking for good places where I'll feel comfortable eating on my own (femail if it matters). Look forward to hearing your recomendations.
Re: types of food...not Sushi (probably better in NY) but otherwsie open.
2nd date between 40th and 20th, East Side
ilili might fit the bill. It's on 5th between 27th & 28th.

Midtown resturants
I would second Molyvos and Quality Meats, and add the Modern and BLT Market. Estiatorio Milos on 55th between 6th & 7th is good for fish and if you are looking for high end dining I would hearty recommend the dining room at Godon Ramsay in the London Hotel.
There are some great places in that vacinity to get a burger (I work in the building opposite the Warwick and am developing a serious burger addiction..). Burger Joint in the Le Parker Meridien Hotel (you"ll find lots of postings about in here), Five Guys on 55th between 5th and 6th, and Astro Diner on the corner of 55th and 6th has a good bison burger.
Vegetarian friendly restaurants
Thanks for your suggestion Jakew8.
Just to clarify I am not looking for an exclusively vegetarian restaurant, just a restaurant where there will be a good selection for some vegetarian dinner guests.
Vegetarian friendly restaurants
I'm looking for inspiration for a vegetarian friendly restaurant for dinner this Saturday night. I'm not vegetarian so not familiar with which places have a good selection.
Ideally we are looking for somewhere in the downtown/Tribeca/Soho area. Not outrageous price e.g. in the $20's for entrees. Help me out hounds!
Help two LA chowhounds plan their eating extravaganza!
Following on from picklesister's post I had dinner at ilili a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic. Great food and very reasonably priced.

Another restaurant (not fitting your requirements but family friendly) is Landmarc. Great steaks.

Help-Pregnant Wife Seeks Fish and CHips
I believe Bubby's on West Broadway serves fish and chips on Fridays.
Help - Tribeca breakfast recommendations
I really would not recommend Kitchenette. I eat there a couple of years ago and it was nothing special. Since then it has been closed by the dept of health several times.
A recent article on eater.

First Weekend in Manhattan, Open to Suggestions!
For Middle Eastern or Mediterranean, I had a great meal the other night at ilili. As it's our first time in NYC you could go for drinks before hand at 230 Fifth Avenue.
Need pre/post drinks suggestions in Tribeca (trying Forge tonight)
I was going to suggest the Brandy Library and there is also the Bubble Lounge on W Broadway. There is also the bar at the Tribeca Grand and Ago, De Niro's new hotel & restaurant on Greenwich St at North Moore.
For after dinner drinks you might like B Flat on Church St bet. White & Franklin.
I'd be interested to hear how Forge is. The previous couple of restaurants to occupy the space have not lasted long but this seems to have a bit more buzz around it.
Leftover chicken
I am looking for inspiration as to what I can do with some left over roast chicken. Ideally I am looking for something I can freeze as I have rather a lot! I would normally make a curry however fancy trying something new.
Thanks in advance.
We fancied Gordon Ramsay at the London, but...
Not nearby but an italian which has been getting some great reviews is Fiamma. I ate in Fiamma in Las Vegas and it was excellent, and some friends recently ate in the NY restaurant and highly recomended the meal.
Chowhound emergency - stuck at the Ritz Battery
Adrienne's pizza on Stone St is supposed to be good. There are also another couple of restaurants in that area that deliver - Smorgas Chef and Haru. Liberty View is a fairly reasonable chinese in Battery Park. Hope this helps and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Scene a la Spice Market - Advice Needed
I went to Buddakan last week for the first time and was pleasently surprised. Had a great cocktail although the wine list was quite limited. The scallion pancakes and black cod were excellent. Sceny atmosphere and in a good location for going on somewhere else after dinner.
El Quijote and drinks
Have a reservation at El Quijote tonight and looking for ideas as to where to meet beforehand for drinks. El Quijote is at 226 West 23rd st between 7th and 8th, and the bar needs to be easy to find for out of towners!
Any recommendations for El Quijote also gratefully received.
Thanks in advance.
In need of inspiration for a birthday dinner
I am looking for ideas for a 30th birthday dinner on a Saturday night mid-Feb. There will be six of us and we're looking for somewhere below 20th St, all cuisines except sushi and mexican and moderately priced. Ideally somewhere with a good atmosphere but not achingly trendy and where we can linger over dinner and have some drinks afterwards.
Stanton Social is being considered however we have concerns over noise levels and also would prefer a 'proper' meal rather than small places.
Any ideas for drinks 50's and 6th Ave?
Need somewhere for tomorrow evening for drinks, reasonably quiet where we can get a seat and talk. Ideally somewhere with food - doesn't have to be a large menu just snacks.
Thanks in advance
Anniversary dinner
It will be our fifth wedding anniversary in December and looking for a place for dinner and would love to hear suggestions from the chowhounds. Fairly open as to location (provided in Manhattan), and also open on cuisine. We love Gordon Ramsay, Landmarc, Capsuto Freres, french bistro type e.g. Balthazar. I'd quite fancy a tasting menu possibly Babbo though conecerned I won't get a reservation. Other ideas are Tocqueville and Cafe Gray. One final point is that we don't want to go somewhere with a special Holiday menu (the date is actually 24th December). I wait with anticipation!
Vegas recs
Thnaks for your recommendations. Can you generally eat at the bar without haven't reservations or a long wait?
Vegas recs
Will be in Vegas next week and looking for ideas as to where to eat. Single, female dining along. To give some guidance I live in New York and on previous visits have been to several buffets, including the Bellagio and Luxor and eaten at Wolfang Puck's Spago. Staying at MGM Grand and would like to stay on the strip i.e. no Lotus of Siam or Rosemarys. Any suggestions welcome.

An abundance of flat leaf parsley
I think the title is self explanatory - if it was basil I would be making pesto but I'm not sure what to do with excess parsley. Any suggestions welcome.
Highlands & west coast of Scotland
We will be driving around the Highlands and west coast of Scotland in late August and am looking for recommendations. Have heard Kishorn Seaford bar is good, and we have previous enjoyed good meals at the Old Inn in Gairloch. But was wondering whether anyone had any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Drinks near The House
Going for dinner at The House tomorrow night which is at E17th & Irving Place. Anyone been and can recommend any of the dishes? It has great reviews on menupages so am looking forward to it.
Also looking for suggestions as to where we could go for a drinks afterwards. Am thinking towards the quiet, cozy, romantic scene rather than lively and loud.
Thanks!
