First Timer in Clearwater - recommendations

Vancouver Chowhound will be heading to the Tampa area in Nov and looking for suggestions. Will be staying in a somewhat remote area called Clearwater Beach and will have access to a car but was hoping to not drive more than 30 min. Will be staying with friends who have 2 young children but appreciate good food.

Looking for good quality family restaurants for lunch and / or dinner; willing to try any cuisine but would prefer local versus chain restaurants.

Any suggestions / hidden gems would be appreciated.

I am told the choices are limited but I know my fellow chowhounds will come up with a few good recommendations!

Where to Eat in Tucson near Catalina Foothills

We are going to be staying at a friends condo at the Reflections in the Catalinas in late Jan 2009 and would like some suggestions for lunch and dinner recommendations in the area. We will have a car but would prefer not to drive more than 15 - 20 mins if possible. I have read most of the topics but they seem to focus on downtown locations

We enjoy all types of foods and being from Vancouver we would like to try some good Mexican and any good local cuisine if possible. As for budget, not looking for anything too pricey for lunch ($10 -$15) and anything that is good value for dinner is fine (say $20 - 30 for entrees).

Thanks in advance!

ps. this condo will have a kitchen so we will probably stock up the fridge for breakfast... any suggestions for local grocery store where we can pick up fresh fruit etc in the area would be much appreciated.

Just moved back to Vancouver / Burnaby from Toronto and need some help

looking for recommendations in the North Burnaby area near SFU or surrounding area (willing to drive for the good stuff!) after being gone for 12+ years

Mostly interested in good Japanese, Thai Italian (no Antons please ;-> ) and Greek recommendations at a reasonable price

Also looking for good cheap eats / neighbourhood gems (any cuisine, lunch or dinner) within a 15 - 20 min drive

Thanks in advance !

Toronto Chowhound in DC and in need of some suggestions

Will be in DC for the first time on April 19th for 3 days and looking for suggestions for lunch and dinner. We are staying at the Marriott at Metro Center on 12th St NW and will be travelling with 3 other adults plus a 2 year old child (pretty active). We pretty much each everything but with 5 adults, menus with some variety is also ideal

I checked some previous posts and most of the interesting / decent / affordable restaurants seem far away ie. Colorado Kitchen , 2 Amys given we will be doing touristy things most of the day and not looking to travel more than 10 -15 mins without a car

I am thinking Jaleo and Breadline are decent options and would appreaciate a few more suggestions of good local fare either within walking distance or a short ride on the metro / or via cab.

Thanks in advance !!

Anyone tried The Mandarin Chinese Halal in Springfield ??

We are going to be down in DC in April and heard from a friend that there is a great Halal restaurant in Springfield Va. Apparently they have a new owner and the food is top notch.

Anyone else tried it or can recommend ?
