Nova Scotia dining summer 2007

Thanks all. Does anyone know anything Trout Point Lodge?

Best unique

yes, Relais & Chateaux, sorry for the typo

Best unique

As I suggested in the Canada forum, one place that comes to mind is Trout Point Lodge of Nova Scotia. This is wilderness lodge with a reputedly great dining room. They published a cookbook a couple of years ago that got a lot of critical praise. The focus is seafood and the owners hail from Louisiana.

Eigensinn Farm definately also counts . . . maybe Kingsbrae Arms, also in the Maritimes, in St. Andrews, New Brunswick--though this is definately getting high end. They are a Realsi & Chateaux property.

How about Trout Point Lodge in Nova Scotia www.troutpoint.com?

Vegetarian eatin's?

I heard the people that owned Chicory Farm now run Trout Point Lodge in Nova Scotia, whihc has dining. I also heard they also published a cookbook that contains a lot of vegetarian recipes: The Trout Point Lodge Cookbook: Creole Cuisine from New Orleans to Nova Scotia, Random House, 2004. Anyone seen this?

Nova Scotia dining summer 2007

My wife and I will be spending two weeks in southern Nova Scotia and Halifax this summer. We like all good food (needless to say), but would like to find some truly special places in terms of ambiance as well. Any suggestions?
