Dinner and Lunch in Willamette Valley
Thanks all for the recs! Mushroom soup and tart amazing at Joel Palmer. Loved the rooftop bar at Hotel Oregon, very fun. Torii Mor was our favorite winery but we only got to a few. Unfortunately most couldn't ship to NJ so we're going to have to see what we can track down locally!
Dinner and Lunch in Willamette Valley
Hi,
My wife and I are coming next week for a stay in the wine country. We're staying at Youngberg Inn next tuesday night. Looking for a nice dinner that evening, have heard good things about Joel Palmer and Nick's. Don't mind a splurge but want a cool atmosphere.
The next night we're staying at Hotel Oregon in Mcminnville. So any lunch recommendations and dinners in Mcminnville (ideally so we can walk that night) would be great. Also, if there are any recs on top wineries and attractions for our one day would be appreciated.
thanks!

Half Day in Portland
This is great, thanks so much. Grotto is some kind of shrine/garden. But the Japanese Garden was recommended as well and sounds great. And I'm a fan of Farmer's markets so that sounds perfect, as do the breakfast options.
Half Day in Portland
Hi,
My wife and I have a brief trip where we're primarily doing the oregon coast then coming back up through the wine country. We arrive on a sunday night and basically have Monday morning and lunch to hang out in Portland. We're staying at the Ace Hotel.
Would like a lunch recommendation in a cool Portland location we could explore that morning. Ideally a place with a nice view, interesting people/scene. Flexible on food style/ethnic. We will have a car (unfortunately, but needed for a road trip).
Powell's sounds cool, heard the Pearl District is nice, someone else recommended the grotto. With our time so short seems like we just have to pick one or two things. Any ideas welcome!
I bought a can of Irish Oats-now what?
Toasting is key. Nice additional texture is grating in some sweet potato. I do the overnight plan, then usually add some cinammon and fruit (bananas/raisins/apricots are standards but during season peaches and cherries are good). Also I separately toast some walnuts or pecans to top it.
Tips in Cincy
Going to be staying in Newport KY for five days, looking for some recommendations there (near No Kentucky University?) and in around Cincinatti. Like ethnic foods, but whatever's good, mostly affordable but might splurge one night. Also any cool (low-key) bar recs would be appreciated.
