Pizza in Saratoga Springs, NY

Saratoga Has the worst pizza around. I've lived in many places. Giacone's has little flavor, Mamma Mia's is worse and Caputo's is inconsistant. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Becides they make you feel like you owe them a favor whenever you go in. Spring St. is pretty good. Best bet, go to Village Pizza, it's great. And for God's sake, do not go to Bruno's.

Over-rated in Saratoga

I went to Springwater last night for tapas for the first time, it was pretty good. Two of us shared 6 items and 4 were good, 1 was ok and 1 was real bad. You can't beat the price, and the selection. Light eaters would love it. We will go back.

Over-rated in Saratoga

Saratoga has been known for great restaurants, but in the past couple of years we go to Saratoga we end up having a bad meal. This includes Brindisi's, Chameleon on the Lake, The Old Bryan Inn, One Caroline, Mouzon House and several others that are supposed to be good (and expensive). It reminds me of The Emporer's New Clothes. People believe it's good because they are told that this is what's good, and they would be embarrased to admit they paid so much for dinner and it wasn't good like everyone says, or that they don't understand what's good about it like their. Let's raise the bar and start demandig a great dining experience to go along with the Saratoga price tag.

You forgot or have not been to the Country Corner Cafe on Church.

Saratoga Restaurants

Chez Sophie was in a 1954 Fodoro diner, and yes, they have slipped. I have heard that a new restaurant will be in the old diner soon, has anyone heard the same?

Saratoga Restaurants

The proprietor is not the chef at the Chameleon. Since they opened a few summers ago they have gone through 5 chefs. You never know what you will get. The wine bare and Hatties ARE safe bets. Always good, consistant food.

Saratoga Restaurants

I hear Gotchya's lost their chef and I have only heard that it is not nearly as good it started out. The service was never that good, but we always went for the food.

Chez Sophie is slipping, not close to itself 4-5 yrs ago and beyond. Been there twice since their move to the hotel and the service is hotel-like, just ok. The food was not worth the money we paid. Too bad, it was a gem when Sophie was with us.
