Bagged lunch ideas- NO FRIDGE OR MICROWAVE!

Another idea that surprisingly doesn't get soggy is to make a good old fashioned Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich and freeze it, take it out in the am and by lunchtime it is just the right temperature. You can make a bunch at once too if you are the kind of person that likes to prepare in bulk. I enjoy mine with a little side of granola!

Outside Sunday brunch recommendations

Not sure how far uptown you are willing to head but there is a great place on 88th and 3rd Avenue called Uptown Lounge. Their brunch is surprisingly delicious and the tables outside are quite nice. The location is great for getting a little sun and a nice brunch at the same time. It's a bar/restaurant though so not high end, but very good!

No Indian food in Great Neck/Little Neck area?

Thanks all for your input! I am going on Saturday to Santoor and look forward to trying the others as well and finding my favorite. I had no idea that "area" existed and am delighted! I will definitely be ordering some take out in the near future. Thank Chows!

No Indian food in Great Neck/Little Neck area?

How did I never know this? I just moved to a complex in Great Neck and have searched high and low for a decent Indian restaurant. I initially looked for one that would deliver (good luck!) and am now just looking for somewhere I can call in an order and go pick it up. Does *anyone* have a lead for me? Thank in advance!

El Tango Steak House, Great Neck LI

The food is delicious and the service is excellent! I read several reviews about the food being sub-par when it first open but if that's the case MAN things have changed! The El Tango Salad is delicious (watercress, avocado, grape tomatos, delicious shrimp) and the shrimp bisque is SO good. I also love the traditional Argentinian steak (I forget the official name on the menu) and the shrimp cocktail is as good as I've ever had. The shrimp themselves are DELICIOUS to begin with and then cooked perfectly (great consistency). The service is excellent too. Go when it's a nice night and sit outside in the back!

Liquor stores

I would call Mr. Wrights, 722-4564. It's on 3rd Avenue between 89th and 90th and has an insane selection of liquors.
Also, I used to *love* Jewel of Russia, also a Russian vodka and very hard to find, and there was a liquor store on 2nd avenue and 41st street that carried it but, apologies, I don't recall the name. If you happen to be in the area pop in!
