Mother's Day Brunch Help Needed - Highstown/Princetown Area You might have some real issues getting a reservation. Some places you can try are the Cranbury Inn in Cranbury http://www.thecranburyinn.com/, JB Winberies in Princeton http://restaurantrow.com/MoreInfo.cfm?Code=235100&state=NJ, and Crystal Garden in the the Hyatt in Princeton http://www.opentable.com/single.aspx?.... I really like Winberies' buffet and you might be ok with the reservation. |

lunch place halfway between Staten Island & Princeton Edison is not half way, it's only 10 minutes from Staten Island and 35-40 minutes from Princeton. A good place in the middle on Rt. 1 is Indigo Indian Restaurant in North Brunswick. |

Any good nurseries for cooking herbs in NJ? There's an herb farm in Cranbury on Plainsboro Rd. It's called Rejay's www.RejaysFarm.com |

I went there as well. Terhunes was selling pie, cider donuts, cider, and apples. The indian food vendor was selling grass feed beef ghee. Also, Bent Spoon was there selling gelato, and a portion of the sales went to slowfood. The donation box was not visible upon entry, that's probably why people did not donate. I only saw it when I went into the bar area and then out again. |

Princeton Rehearsal Dinner ideas?? - Moved from Tristate board The Nassau Inn is probably your best bet for a place with a projector. It's really nice and has a lot of history. There is a painting by Norman Rockwell in the pub. |

They're AWESOME for breakfast! We left the area in April, so I'm not sure about whether or not they still only take cash. |

Marilyn's Cafe is really good too. They are not fancy, but they are consistently good. They are in the shopping center across from Larison's. I also recommend the Brew Pub. |

Yes! I love this place. We went about 2 years ago for Valentine's Day and I had a tasting menu and it was delicious. Most recently, we got my mother in law a gc for there as a thank you for our wedding and she said they "had the most wonderful dining experience at the Bernards Inn tonight! We both agreed it was the best ever. As impressed as I have been with it’s reputation, it far exceeded my expectations. So elegant. We loved the ambiance (we were in the little step-down dining room past the piano, near a window), the service, and the “cuisine.” Steve had Filet Mignon and I had roasted potato gnocchi with broccoli, sweet potato, cream corn. All was beautifully presented and the desserts were “divine.” Truly, a top-rate experience. We are spoiled now! It was a wonderful gift! Thank you so much." Hope this helps! I've been wanting to go back for some time now and this email kind of sealed it for me! |

Catherine Lombardi has Dale DeGroff come in and teach the bartenders how to mix drinks with fruit juices squeezed from the fruits and homemade mixes. They take their cocktail program very seriously. I enjoy my drinks there, but their prices are very exuberant ($12), so I can only afford one or two drinks usually :) |

My mom and I ate here about 2 months ago for lunch. The owner told us she was selling the place and handed us her card. She's doing cooking classes. |

My in-laws use La Cipollina's for ALL their events lately. Last time I was there was Christmas Eve. The time before that was for a baby shower in October 07. The time before that was for an after funeral lunch in September 06. Christmas Eve was a family dinner and we were the only ones in the restaurant. It took FOREVER to get our food. The food, however, was good. I just found the slow service unacceptable. Maybe they thought we wanted to take our time. But we were STARVING. The events they do there are nice. The baby shower had a lot of food and it was really good. They also did a good job after the funeral. They were unobtrusive, the food was served quickly and quietly, and the food was good. All in all, I'd say maybe the food has picked up in quality, but the service for dinners is still questionable. |

Agreed. We ate there for our birthdays in early August and everything was fantastic. The only gripe I have is that their tea offerings are lacking. They did not have any black tea. Chamomile, Green, Cinnamon, and Mint were the choices. Blech. I think I might start carrying tea with me since restaurants seem to not care about tea drinkers. |

Dinner before concert at PNC in Holmdel I second McDonagh's and Drew's. The Office is also right when you get on 36 in the Stop and Shop parking lot. You could also hit Houlihan's, Chili's, Macaroni Grill on 35 and then take Laurel Avenue going West to get over to PNC (look at at a map, there's a service entrance on Crawford's Corner Rd. between the Police Station and High School that is labeled "Commuter Lot" with an Academy Bus emblem on the sign. |
