Alphonso mango available at Price Chopper

I went to Warden/Finch today. Although the box is printed 'Kesar mango', there's a sticker on the side that's written 'alphonso'. You probably bought alphonso.

The Chickery - Spadina South of Richmond (David Adjey's new casual spot)

Went there in late afternoon, the roasted chicken was not done yet.
Tried the 2 pc chicken finger with green salad for $9.
The chicken finger is only the size of a finger. It is very small. The green salad is just a handful. The gravy is bland and under seasoned. Way over priced for that tiny portion.

Sale ends Wed. May 23.

I bought it from Dufferin/Dupont. The cashier mentioned it'll feature on the Friday flyer. It might be store wide then. They are smaller than those from Kinoor.

Best Tasting Charbroiled Teriyaki Chicken Burger and more......Guess where??!!

I was there for lunch today. Kaji was there too.

non-Winterlicious prix fixe menus in Toronto, Winter 2012

Terra has a 3 course Sundaylicious for $39.

Help me with my Richmond Hill food tour

Hainan chicken rice is served only Monday lunch, or dinner Wed to Sun. They are closed for Monday dinner and all day Tues. They make everything fresh daily, better call ahead to make sure. The Chinese name for Delicious Restaurant is 'Ho Ching Heung'.
Some of the pre-ordered dishes include: stew yellow fin grouper with bitter melon or eggplant, lobster with cheese sauce, bake stuffed conch, Singapore crab, stew lamb belly, curry lamb etc.
Items on the regular menu that I enjoyed and all made from scratch: pan fried black chicken, Sticky rice, rice dumpling (triangle with leaf wrapping), fish mouse noodle, fish ball, fish ball with mince meat filling (bau sum fish ball), steam stuffed tofu with top soy sauce, etc.
Reservation recommended for weekend dinner as the seating capacity is about 35 only.

Chicken Wing Prices - RIDICULOUS!!!

I like Buzzy's wings and pizza. I ordered take-out too.

Not sure if it's authentic, the Singapore crab at Delicious Restaurant (next to ex-Tang Chai Kee) is very yummy. Needs advance order. The new owners are very friendly. Hai Nan Chicken with rice is probably the best in Toronto. Bake stuffed conch (advance order) is not the regular ones with lots of filler, but with well chosen ingredients that you can identify and taste. It's a small restaurant with about 30 seats.

Belly Ice Cream - have you tried it??

Glad that you mentioned it. I saw them in Pusateri's and was wondering. I'll try it soon. Thanks.

Hong Kong or Cantonese Stir-Fry or "Wok-Hay" Restaurants

The breakfast/lunch at Ocean Seafood has lots of selections and might be the cheapest in R.H. when comparing with other Hong Kong style cafes.

Brilliant Chinese Restaurant - Different dishes, equally enjoyable!

ex Brilliant chef now works for T & T; ex LWH chef now at Brilliant.

Kaji on a Friday night

When I dine there, I always sit at the sushi counter and watch Kaji San making sushi and sashimi.
Since about 2 years ago, he no longer serve different sushi/sashimi according to the price. The differences in the $80, $100 and $120 are in the cooked dishes only.
They all have the same sushi and sashimi.

Blacktree Menu Question

I was there 2 weeks ago. I called and requested tasting menu. The chef said he did not do tasting menu. But with the amuse, sorbet and truffle, he mentioned it's multi courses and similar to a tasting menu.

Chiado question

Chiado's portion is not small at all. I'm always stuffed after eating there. Service is good but not pretentious.Decor is not hip, at least not just grey, black and white. I think it's good for business or family dinner.

The Beast's "Beast 120" menu: great way to snack or have an early dinner!

At this price, it's cheaper than the food truck event!

O-Mei or Brilliant?

It depends on what you want to eat.
O-Mei - giant lobster or King crab 4 ways, steamed minced pork;
Brilliant - deep fried de-boned chicken with glutinous rice, deep fried de-boned duck with taro paste (both need advance order), Peking duck, pan seared jumbo scallop with surpreme soy sauce, black grouper 2 ways.

Bayview & Sheppard?

Au Delices' pastry and cakes are from Rahier. That's why it's so good!

Brilliant Chinese Restaurant - Different dishes, equally enjoyable!

I was there for dim sum today too.
I think it's 15% or 20% off before 11 am and 10% after 11am.

Olympic Cheese Mart in Markham

I bought cheese from there before and found them ok. Haven"t tried other stuff.
They have another location in SLM.

Win's Seafood Chinese Restaurant (16th Avenue just west of Warden) - Anyone been??!

Chef Ken Tam used to be the executive chef at LWH. He's been in Brilliant for over 1 month now.

Win's Seafood Chinese Restaurant (16th Avenue just west of Warden) - Anyone been??!

Chef Tam is now in Brilliant, not Ma or Lam.

Win's Seafood Chinese Restaurant (16th Avenue just west of Warden) - Anyone been??!

@Charles

Ex-Ngau Kee chef is no longer at YLH.

I don't know who's the chef there now.

Price at Win's is about the same as Ngau Kee.

FYI: The chef at Lai Wah Heen is now working at Brilliant.

@plug

YLH is at Steeles & Ashcott (1 block w of Brimley).

Win's Seafood Chinese Restaurant (16th Avenue just west of Warden) - Anyone been??!

Also ex-chef of Ngau Kee in FMP and 'Yu Lok Heen' at Steeles & Brimley.

Win's Seafood Chinese Restaurant (16th Avenue just west of Warden) - Anyone been??!

The chef used to be in the Chinese resto in Sheraton Hotel on Hwy 7. His favorite dishes include crab in rum sauce, 'hand made' fish ball noodle soup, steamed eel in black bean sauce w/ tangerine skin.
For Win's, the food was good but not the service.

Maple Yip - A nice dinner with a few standout dishes!

The wine is probably BYOB.

Shiso Tree Cafe - An interesting 'Pasta' find inside J-Town!

Agreed that the food is outstanding there. It's the same owner of the bakery in J-Town. You can buy the cake from J-Town.

"Reserve" Black Angus, Sterling Silver or... ???

FYI, Harbour Sixty serves USDA prime, not C.A.B.
