Where to take young kids in Hollywood?

My Cousin is in town with his wife and two kids, aged 5 and 7. I'm looking for somewhere in Hollywood with good food, but somewhere that kids that age will not be a problem. By that I mean A - no where so quiet that two younger kids will disrupt everybody else's meal, and B - somewhere with food that a kid that age will eat. I don't know the kids well enough to know how adventurous they are, so I'd like a place that will have things they'd recognize. I like Cambodian food. Most 5 year-olds don't. Any suggestions? My Cousin and his wife love all types of food, but I don't want the kids to be left out.

French Restaurant in Hollywood?

"Fun" was probably the wrong word. Cafe Marly had interesting decor, but was sedate and a good date-type atmosphere. That's what I'm looking for.

French Restaurant in Hollywood?

My girlfriend and I had a great meal at Cafe Marly on Melrose last year, but it seems to have turned into another restaurant whose phone seems to have been shut off. Not a good sign.

I'm looking for something fun, with good food and a good wine list, which would be good for an anniversary dinner. Nothing too expensive, as we're both underemployed right now, but I still want it to be special. Any ideas?

Green Peanuts in LA

That explains it. I've been looking at the wrong time of the year every time I've checked. Thanks for the tips, and I'll check out your blog.

Green Peanuts in LA

That's interesting. In Carolina, the "new crop" season usually starts in May and runs through about July or so. Odd.

Green Peanuts in LA

I'm a transplanted southerner looking to cook up boiled peanuts, and I need green, non-dried ones to do so. Any good spots to find them? I've had no luck at Farmer's Markets so far.

Country-style ribs

When I was growing up down south, we'd always barbeque "country-style" ribe, which are big, honkin' hunks of meat, as opposed to, say, a baby-back. Any places serve these?

Walking distance of Hollywood and Whitley

Actually, Second City moved to a new space on Hollywood and Whitley in January. It's where the old LA Rep used to be. I'm still getting used to the parking situation down there.

Walking distance of Hollywood and Whitley

My family's in town this weekend, and I have a show on Friday night at Second City in Hollywood. The show is at 8:00, and I'm hoping to find a good restaurant not too far from there for either an early or a late dinner. Basically, I'd like to spare them some of the horror of Hollywood Friday night parking by only having them park once.

Any suggestions for a good place within walking distance of Hollywood and Whitley? I'm looking for somewhere nice but not super expensive. Sushi is always good, but anything tasty will work.
