Slater's 50/50 Burger by Design (Anaheim Hills)

For me, I thought everything was oversalted. While the 50/50 is cooked well, it's just too damn dry to enjoy. Portions are large, but I think quality isn't that high. Of course, this is when they first opened. It appears they may have gotten better. I'd go again if I was passing by that area, but I wouldn't drive from the SGV just to eat at Slater's.

How do you order your burger and fries at in n out burger?

double double, extra lettuce and tomatoes, extra suace, onions both ways and a side of animal fries.

sometimes i do extra toast, but i usually get the above. animal style is good but for some reason i started to sway away from it and order the above.

oh and the occasional 4x4.

where can i get PUPUSA?

I've only learned about Pupusa's also and the only place I've had it is at El Cerro Verde in Hawthorne. Tasted good to me, but I can't compare to anything else.

Kogi - Good food, but is it worth the wait? [pics]

I don't think their food is that great and I think it's totally not worth the wait. Their tacos are mediocre at best, the meats weren't too flavorful. The burrito was not good at all being that the potatoes soaked up any flavor there was, not to mention the bitterness of the char from the grill. Their kim chi quesadilla is aweful, it sounds like what it's called; good apart terrible together.

Ordering of the "Secret Menu?"

Correct. It is across the street from the old city market and next to the Wholesale Mart. On the corner of 11th st, the old city market has been slightly renovated and now holds a bank. Across the street from the bank is Paul's Kitchen. 9th St is the next signal. If you hit 9th, you went too far.

Their fries are good but under seasoned Their burgers ain't that great. Not much flavor, bland. Even the burger I had with toppings tasted bland.

Mail order Chicago Deep Dish Pizza?

Also, from the site you need to order 2 or more. The price of 2 or 3 is roughly $27 each.

Mail order Chicago Deep Dish Pizza?

Giordano's is good, but I think Gino's East is better. When I was in Chicago and did both pizzas Gino's East came out on top. Their crust was better, butterier, flakier and their crumbled sausage was sweeter tasting, not from adding sugar, but from the meat; you probably already knew what I meant.

It seems like they ship also,

My Favorite Meals, Under $20, in these Recessionary Times

I do not agree. While it's good, even though i like sausage, i'd prefer one of their meat patties under that fried egg and chili.

Food/beverages invented in Los Angeles

If you're gonna lump all that, you have to add Hong Kong Noodle Co to the mix. They started in 1913 and started distribution around the early 20's.

Paul's Kitchen.....Anyone???

oh i know it was more extensive. they were the ones that brought bao's to the forefront right? what i meant was most old timer's breakfast/dim sum would just consist of those couple of dishes. it wouldn't be a feast like we do today. plus those two items were the best to eat.

Buying breakfast sausages in bulk

So, i've been asked to purchase breakfast sausages for a breakfast fundraiser at church. The only problem is i'm not much of a breakfast person, which means i don't normally go to the market in search of breakfast stuff. So, i'm at a loss and don't have a real clue where to purchase this stuff in bulk.

Any ideas? I believe i have to buy around 500-800 breakfast sausages. I assume the name brand stuff like farmer john and jimmy dean would be the cheapest route. Any ideas on where I could buy this stuff and not incur a high cost?

merlin.

The best hot dog toppings -- Discuss!

those hot dogs are great! me and my friends call them ghetto dogs. my friend made some at home one time, what was funny is that she bought all the stuff at whole foods. so it turned out to the an all natural ghetto dog. tasted fantastic. better quality ingredients i guess. gourmet ghetto dog i suppose.

how i usually eat them. and i usual eat them at dodger baseball games. deli mustard and white onion. i hardly ever get relish or ketchup. mayo is a good choice too.

Report On Chop Suey Cafe (old Far East Cafe Location)

this is somewhat funny, the last time i was there was for happy hour. i wanted to walk through the restaurant to go to the bar. while walking up to the front door there were two waiters outside and as i was going to enter they asked me if what i wanted and if i was lost.

the food and service is really bad. the time i was there, a couple of my friends ordered chow fun. it took at least half an hour to make and from what i saw, they were one of maybe 3 people actually ordering food in the place. it took roughly another twenty minutes to get their food. what they did was leave it on the sill where all the food comes out as we saw it come out, but couldn't get anyone to check if it was their food.

i have to give it up for the bartender chick. when it gets busy she works really hard being that she's the only one holding down the fort.
