New Yorker coming to Portland

Thanks for everyone's recommendations. We had dinner at Toro Bravo which involved a very long wait. It was quite good and an excellent value. Was supposed to go to Gruner, but we had too many people with us that the restaurant was unable to accommodate us. Instead we went to Savoy which was only okay, but fun. Also stopped in at the food pod on Belmont which was really cool, had a chicago dog there. Finished off the weekend by going to Pok Pok, which was awesome and maybe my favorite of the all places and Urban Farmer which had a great rib eye.

Group Dinner in Montreal

I am looking for a place to have dinner on a Saturday night in Montreal with about 8 other guys. I am not looking for fine dining, however I am looking for serious food. I am a food lover from New York and I always try to make it a point to have dinner at some of the better restaurants everytime a I visit another city. I thought I found the perfect place (comibing good and inventive food) in Au Pied de Cochon, but when I called they were already booked. Can anyone recommend something similar or something that fits my criteria. Please help!!!!

Birthday Recommendations!!!!!!!!!!!

I am trying to decide between a few places for my birthday, there will be 4 of us.

1. Aldea
2. Bar room at the Modern
3. Kyo Ya

Trying not to do anything too expensive (EMP, JG). Was recently at Convivio and loved it so will probably stay away from Italian. Anyone have any thoughts on the above or have any additional recommendations. Location not really an issue.

A place that serves after 11 pm...

Looking for a restaurant with good food that serves after 11 pm on Thursday. Preferably with a good wine list. Open to any cuisine. Staying at the Back Bay Hotel, so not too far from there would be great. Please help!

Boston Dinner Recommendations

I am headed up to Boston from NYC next Thursday night and I am looking for some place to have dinner. Doesn't have to be molecular gastronomy, just something that is a little more simple and seasonal. Please let me know if you have any recommendations.

Where to eat in Aix?

I will be in Aix for a couple of nights and am looking for a couple of recommendations for non-touristy places that have good food and good value. I might also go to Le Clos de la Violette one night. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Provence Blowout Dinner, Need Help!

Should I stick with Maison Bru or try and find some place in Gordes and stay there? Do you think I would be missing out on not staying in Gordes and staying in Eygalieres for example?

Best Foie Gras not in a Michelin Star restaurant? And anyone been to Au Gourmand?

Looking for a bistro in Paris that serves excellent Foie (I am sure there are many). I am staying in the 1st but it doesn't have to be near that. Also, was thinking about dining at a restaurant called Au Gourmand for the first night. Anyone ever been?

Provence Blowout Dinner, Need Help!

We have a reservation at Maison Bru and Le Clos de la Violette in Aix. So we will decided between the two. Do you think it's possible to stay in Gordes and dine at Maison Bru? I was really looking forward to staying there, or is the town where the restaurant is located equally as nice?

Has anyone ever been to the General Greene? Is it worth it and if so any recommendations? Also, will it be crowded and difficult to get a table there on a Thursday night? Thanks for the help.

New Yorker Coming to Chicago for 1st Time

Hi all,

I am coming to Chicago for the first time in a couple of weeks and am very excited about checking out the city. I get in around 8:30 on Friday night so I would need a place to eat with my GF on the later side and places for the rest of the weekend. I am looking for the great places that locals enjoy such hot dogs, Italian beef, or anything else and a place to have a nice dinner that's not Alinea. Anything really, brunch, lunch, dinner, and late night. Please help me out!

Great Moderately Priced American?

I would say Market Table. It's the sister restaurant of Little Owl and a little easier to get a table/reservation. Most of the appetizers are very good: particularly the bacon wrapped scallops, gnocci w/ braised shorts, and the raw tuna. For the entree, the roast chicken hands down. Also, you can get a side of hush puppies with honey butter that are great.

Wine bars in Chelsea or W. Village?

El Quinto Pino on west 24th is a great wine and tapas bar. Try the uni sandwich.

Dinner for a group downtown

Pretty ecletic group. Any cuisine is good, just as long as it's a fun atmosphere and not over-priced (such as the Stanton Social or something).
