NEW YEARS EVE REASONABLE AND LAST MINUTE

We are staying in Hallandale outside of Ft. Lauderdale and are looking for a good restauarant for this evening in the Asian range of cuisine. We are not from here and are completely lost in relation to restuarants here. It would be ideal to eat somewhere slightly upscale but not over the top and with good food that would appeal to both vegetarians and carnivores. Thanks for any reccomendations!

my mom and I both love food and this is definitely the nicest meal either of us have had in a while. The only thing im worried about at Daniel is that it will be too formal. I like formal but both of us are from new mexico and are more laid back than probably the majority of Daniel's guests...I heard per se was slightly more relaxed in the ambiance?
the ultimate question is what restaurant has better food/most consistent

DANIEL V. PER SE

I am taking my mom and I out for her birthday/my graduation dinner and was wondering which might be the better choice. I have reservations Daniel and am on the wait list for per se...but in the case of getting off the wait list I was wondering which might be the better choice? The reviews I have read are totally varied and I am just lookin for some more insight.

Where is the Best Dim Sum in Manhattan? [Moved from The Best board]

definitely recommend golden unicorn. For dim sum on the healthier side/less grease, i would recommend chinatown brasserie...more upscale too

Post-graduation restaurant good for groups

I am graduating from columbia and have a lot of people coming to town. We want to do a late lunch that is fairly reasonable and preferably on the west side...any suggestions? It would be for about 15 people, and i might consider renting out a room. preferably ethnic cuisine.
thanks!

La refuge v. Le gigot

I am looking for a french restuarant day after valentines for a good friend and I...been to le gigot before, had a great experience and loved the food/atmosphere. La refuge was recommended and was wondering if anyone had any insight on the comparison?

Dinner for two tonight- LES or West Village

Lavagna is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in east village...great food, good wine, never had too hard of time getting in. Also, 26 seats (or 28) good reasonably priced french food. atmosphere for both restaurants is great!

Good restaurant by Teacher's College

Definitely Max Soha and I heard Pisticci was good. I think Sezz Medi is over priced for the food/area. I would also recommend Indus valley for indian on 102 and Broadway I believe. If willing to go to the 80's..Nice Matin is good french, kinda pricey but good.

Cozy french restuarant

I am looking for a french restaurant for day after valentines to go to with best friend. I have Le Gigot in mind because the food is good, it's small and extremely cozy. Might want to try something new, any suggestions?
