(i ordered a gift for some ppl. and decided to treat myself, but i have never had anything from them before)

Eastchester turns down Panera

yea westchester could definitely use a shake shack instead we get weschester burger at 3x the price and1/2 as good blech

Burrata in Eastchester opening

frankie and fanucci's (f&f ) is in both hartsdale and mamaroneck, again interesting but not great, in fact in hartsdale there is a pizza place across the street with very good slices, the better (preferred ones) have toppings and a bit pricy but very good, f&f is more of a restaurant and whole pies only

In White Plains...

or how about a good fried chicken place, better yet one of those korean fried chicken that are supposed to be so good

Catering for a 40th Birthday Party - Westchester/Greenwich, CT

again might try susan lawrence from chappaqua, i believe they are full service and very good, i have only tried the storefront but they are primarily catering

Burrata in Eastchester opening

paris1976- have you tried anthony's coal fired oven in wp- good but something lacking imo, much better pricing at lunch time or even f&f in mamk or hartsdale?

Burrata in Eastchester opening

jhopp217- been several months since colony but the sausage pie was still very good to me, currently unable to get anywheres due to surgery. broadway pizza in n. white plains and n. broadway pizza in armonk are both good slice joints with fair prices, i think they are more consistent and better than sal's in mamk . sals is capable of a great slice but it is usually only average.imho

sorry state of fried chicken in westchester

would actually prefer a good take-out place, kfc and popeyes (bronx -just past fairway) are both good, but i keep thinking there must be better. btw how do you add" re"- for a subject?

Food Trucks in Westchester?

can't help for now,but after winter their are two taco trucks down by city park in new rochelle, both very reasonable and good, although most of their customers are day laborers in the area (actually a pretty good sign). i forget which i prefer but in the past it was the one parked closer to new rochelle, just 50' apart though

Best Chili? Westchester/Hudson Valley

texas weiner is years newer, so the grease is not as built up (lol) but was started by a former employee of pat's, but if you go to pat's you will see why no website, definitely old school or perhaps skool. texas weiner has the spicier chili though

Best Red Velvet in Westchester?

lloyds carrot cake in the bronx makes great carrot cake and red velvet both whole and slices, worth the trip, and just over the border.www.lloydscarrotcake

Pecan Pie Westchester?

haven't tried susan lawrence for pecan pie, but their foods while pricey are delicious in general

Muffaletta Sandwich [Westchester]

i have heard that the sandwich survives very well and that the time that it "ages" actually improves the sandwich. haven't tried it yet. as far as being limited, not referring just to muffeletta where you are correct, but good italian cold cut (heroes) are hard to find, mexican , a few hole in the walls, in port chester and new rochelle, still very few trucks or anything exotic but not outrageously so. even good burgers and dogs fairly priced

Burrata in Eastchester opening

Maryld - i was also trying to get info (none) but did find a picture of the first pizza out of there oven on google image search - looked too much dough and i personally prefer the aged (?) mozzarella over the fresh. pepes when they are at their best, lincoln lounge, johnnies and colony are some of my faves, sal's at time and north broadway,in either armonk or n. white plains, but most slices will do in a pinch.

sorry state of fried chicken in westchester

are there really no suggestions for reasonably priced GOOD fried chicken in this area now that poultry time is gone? i know alvin and friends is supposed to be good, but come on a white linen table cloth restaurant is not the place to get fried chicken, and prefer a reasonable price also, so come on there MUST BE SOME PLACES

Pecan Pie Westchester?

the best i have had (long time though) was from corky's mail order bbq, which fortunately the bbq was very good . possibly little pie company in nyc but bring your banker. may want to search best of boards, as i am sure it's been asked before. good luck

Caterer recommendations for hubby's 40th in Mamaroneck, NY

susan lawrence in chappaqua has wonderful but pricey food and does quite a bit of cate they (naturally) have a website - http://susanlawrence.com/home/

Best Mexican Food in Westchester?

i went when they first opened ( bar taco) and found everything extremely bland, the only flavor was from the sauce/salsa - never went back, los gemellos seemed far superior and cheaper

Muffaletta Sandwich [Westchester]

sad to say, but westchester is very limited in what is offered, i don't think you will have any luck around here, if it is for a group and a splurge, i think the central market in new orleans will ship sandwiches- but the only way is to call, no internet

Best Sandwiches in westchester?

there are several a&s stores around the county and ct,i believe they are all seperate but related family members, the one in thornwood is also very good, mamk, not so good and am not familiar with the others although i have heard good things about ct, stamford, i believe

Best Mexican Food in Westchester?

chowdom - i believe most of them near the hospital are still there, also except in the winter there are two taco trucks by city park in new rochelle, that are better than the restaurants

Louie & Johnny's Cheesesteak and Clam Bar - Eastchester

jhopp217- but can the other place make you a cheesesteak WITH clams on it?, maybe they plan to beat the competition with lower prices (?)

Louie & Johnny's Cheesesteak and Clam Bar - Eastchester

Somehow just the combination of things they are "boasting of" in their name - both cheesteaks and clambar are a warning to me that they cannot be dedicated enough to either product to be very good, there is a chinese/mexican restaurant in wp, and while i have heard of some in the city, i would not have much faith in this combination in this area

fried chicken in westchester

have tried both the nuggets (excellent but greasy) and the fried chicken at chicken joe and garden catering- no poultry time. they are more of the junk food, guilty indulgence, rather than a meal of (admittedly) still guilty fried chicken. also they do offer much more than just chicken. i do really like the grilled chicken at the placw on main st. chicken gone wild, but never tried the fried food

fried chicken in westchester

now that poultry time is but a vague memory, does any other place in westchester make very good fried chicken, have had stew leonards in an emergency but not thrilled, popeyes is good but should be able to find better, kfc is acceptable in a pinch
