There's an old bar in South Amboy called The Halfway House that's being renovated. I was wondering if anyone knows what's going in there. It's on the corner of Ridgeway Ave. and Raritan St. |

Are you referring to the Sayreville Bar on Cecilia St (sp)? I didn't know it was closed. Hmmm |

Hi All, I am in the process of redoing my kitchen and im stuck on what i want to do with my countertops. I will be in this house for another 4 years and thats it. But I also love to cook. I have had laminate for the past 8 years and its in really good shape. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks. |

Hi todao, I tried your recipe and I think I've got it. At first I made big dumplings, but when I got to the end I made smaller ones. My problem was that I didnt let them cook long enough. The smaller ones had the right chewy consistency. The larger ones were floury inside. My hubby was very happy with the small ones. Now I know to cook them longer. Thanks so much. |

Where to get veal bones in central NJ? I have seen them on occasion at Shop-Rite on Ernston road. Its either Parlin or Sayreville. If you don't see them, ask the butcher if he can order them for you. I have also gotten pork neck bones that make a delicious stock. |

I am looking for a more dense texture. I will try to leave out the leavening agent and see what happens. (as soon as the weather gets cooler again). |

I remember making the rootbeer. we had a big stainless steel tub that we mixed the ingredients. Then we put it in cannisters and hooked it up to the soda system. AAh happy times. |

My husband loves chicken and dumplings and I haven't been able to create a decent dumpling after many attempts. Does anyone out there have a good recipe for dumplings? |

I live in South Amboy and I am dying to find a place that makes good fish and chips. Whenever I have the urge I have to make it myself. Any suggestions???? |

Unfortunately that building has been razed. My dad had a Stewart's on Englishtown Road in Old Bridge in the 80's. I remember making plenty of root beer floats. |

Miracle Whip uses a rancid oil which is cheaper than a fresh oil. They market this and most of the consumers cannot detect rancidity in oil (which I find really strange) I guess that I have a nose for that. |

I think it's important to be open to anything whether you are either a food snob or food lover. If you don't try, you may be missing something really great. I have been accused of being a food snob but, how can that be when I am addicted to Ring Dings, lol. |
