Blood Sausages in SEA?
I had great Spanish bood sausage at The Harvest Vine. It was a couple years ago but I bet it's something they continue to do. Soo delicious.
Best brunch spots in the East Village?
Just moved to the East Village and love all the great food in the 'hood.
I have yet to venture into the bruch arena and would love recommendations.
Price range, food type.. I'm open.
best coffee in manhattan
Just moved to NY from Seattle and I'm lucky to live near '9th Street Espresso' which I can recommend.
Las Vegas dinner tips needed..
Hello chow helpers..
I go to Vegas twice a year for business and am in need of some new dinner ideas. Nothing too fancy or overdone but love going out to a great meal. Don't mind a hole in the wall if it's authentic and yummy. I'm also open to a great place for just a drink or dessert.
Bouchon is my standby for breakfast or dinner, sometimes both. I've done Mesa Grill, Bobby Flay's place in Cesars, the Pink taco, Nobu, Lotus of Siam, Red 8 @ the Wynn and enjoyed them all.
I just really want to try something new and good. Any suggestions within my taste of restaurants?. I also don't want to cab too far unless it's reallllly worth it.
Thanks Chowhounders.
Solo female traveler to PDX and SEA
For Seattle I would highly recommend Le Pichet, my favorite spot to have a solo meal at the bar..breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. Great atmosphere, food and drink. The Harvest Vine for Spanish food also has bar seating.
I second the Palace Kitchen and Shiro's but not the 5 Spot. Sorry.
Lunch at Salumi, if you can make it tues-fri 11-4, is a must! I'm a big fan of the Vietnamese food at Green Leaf in the International District.
In Portland I had a great meal at The Park Kitchen.
Cooking class recommendations - Seattle
I took a class at Le Gourmand and loved it! It is not hands on but you sit in the tiny kitchen while the owner/chef makes a full meal. You get to sip wine and have a little plate of every course. It was so charming, lovely and very tasty!
I think it is only once a month..ring them for specifics.
4 days in Seattle....
The Panama Hotel Tea House... for tea and a slice of the green tea cake (have to ask for it). Good stuff!! Sit with a book for hours. I wouldn't suggest food (panini's) there when you're so close to such yummy spots... Green Leaf, Schezuan noodle bowl, and Salumi.
4 days in Seattle....
Salumi is cured meats. People go with the sandwiches most often but I’d recommend the meat and cheese plates so you can taste all the meats and not fill up on bread. A lot of food for one but maybe you can make a friend or have leftovers. They have daily veggie sides that are always great. Big table in back with a serve yourself bottle of wine, so lovely. Google it to read more about it. Must go!
Green Leaf is a small Vietnamese place in the International District-lunch and dinner. Not a ‘must see’ place but inexpensive, good food, and nice people.

Must.. Salumi (lunch only tues-fri), Le Pichet- breakfast lunch or dinner- great for one, Green Leaf in the ID, Matt's in the Market, the Crumpet Shop for breakfast, coffee at Vivace on Capitol Hill.
If you wanted to cab over to Ballard go to Sambar, small place, perfect coctails and snacks.
Ps. While you’re in Vancouver check out Chambar...I’ve had many great meals and drinks there.
Visiting Austin..downtown suggestions..& beyond
thank you thank you. so excited to explore austin.
Visiting Austin..downtown suggestions..& beyond
I will be visiting Austin in March, staying in Soco, and need some meal planning. I'm really looking for the best/authentic Mexican, Texmex, and BBQ. Coffee, deli, bakery, etc I shouldn't miss are welcome too.
First, what are the must eat spots I can walk to in the downtown area? I am willing to walk, so neighboring areas with in a few miles are fine.
Second, I really don't want to rent a car but am willing to cab-it for the right food. So what are the spots I can't miss and should hop in a cab for?
Thanks so much.
Hawaii North Shore
PS. If you're there over the weekend, look for Huli Huli chicken being cooked just off the road in Haleiwa. Soo good you'll probably eat it with your hands before you get to where your going. If you drive toward Kahuku, look for roadside stands selling Kahuku corn that you can cook later...so sweet. There can be great stands on the side of the road to get fruit and homemade sweets around there.
Hawaii North Shore
Cafe Haleiwa is the absolute best for breakfast, a must! I grew up on it.
When you get shave ice, order it with sweet beans and ice cream in the bottom.
Grab a drink and an appetizer at Haleiwa Joe's or Jameson's (outside only) for the view.
You can also just stop by Foodland (main grocery store near Waimea) and pickup some poke, boiled peanuts, and some other pupu’s and go eat on the beach.
Have fun! It's a great place. Find a good plate lunch!
Anyone have a suggestion where to get a good plate lunch?
