Atlanta - Murphy's bakery

The tollhouse pie is great!!! I get it every time I go to Murphy's. Yum!

Just One Dinner in Atlanta

I don't think Murphy's would be too upscale or stuffy. However, I would agree with womenluvtofish and recommend Wisteria as well, which is only a few blocks from Murphy's. And it has better food and atmosphere in my opinion. Their web site is www.wisteria-atlanta.com.

Food in Atlanta, GA

French - there is a fairly new restaurant in Midtown - Trois. I haven't been yet, but have heard nothing but good things.
Itialian - Sotto Sotto in Inman Park, La Tavola in Virginia Highlands.
Thai - Nan Thai Fine Dining.

Hope this helps!

Need good recs for dinner in Greenville, SC

My husband and I are headed to Greenville a couple weekends from now to visit some friends who just moved there. We are not familiar with the area...Where are some good places for dinner Saturday night that are nice, but not too, too pricey? Thanks!

Wisteria in Atlanta?

I highly recommend Wisteria. It may even be my favorite restaurant in Atlanta.

Fish tacos in Atlanta

My husband and I personally love the Tilapia tacos at La Fonda. Yum! I've had the ones at Pozole too and thought they were good as well. I used to LOVE the fish tacos at Sala - but they've recently changed their menu and it looks like the only fish taco they serve now also has shrimp in it and I don't like shrimp. Can anyone confirm this?

le CREUSET DUTCH OVEN :: Where to get the lowest price

I was at HomeGoods in Atlanta today and they had a bunch. Not sure the sizes - but there were a few different ones to choose from. The one I picked up to look at was only $69.99! Probably smaller than the one you're looking for though.

Rathbun's vs. Wisteria vs. Watershed

I agree with rcburli...Wisteria sounds like a perfect match for what you are looking for. It is actually my absolute favorite restaurant in Atlanta. It is cozy, but not too casual and the food is wonderful! Let us know what you thought after you go!

Hilton Head Island - help w/ non-chain recs

My family has a condo in Hilton Head and we've been going a couple times a year for years now. Some of our favorites lately are RedFish, Santa Fe Cafe, Charlie's Crab and Charlie's L'etoile Verte. Giuseppi's is great for pizza, if you want something more casual.

Private Lunch for 12-15 in Midtown ATL

I agree with nelson32 about South City Kitchen in Midtown. They have a couple different alcove areas upstairs that would accomodate 12-15 people. I used one of the areas for my bridesmaid's luncheon in 05. There were 13 of us and it worked out perfectly. I'm pretty sure for a lunch you easily do $12-$20 a plate. Plus, the food is great!

Catering in Atlanta?

I second Bold American Catering. They catered my wedding over a year ago and people still mention the food to me all the time and how great it was!

4 Day Survey of Atlanta Restaurants

1) Gathering Grounds in Kirkwood.

2) The Flying Biscuit - there's one in Candler Park and one in Midtown. Murphy's in Virginia Highlands (Va.Hi.) has one of the best brunches in town!

3) Sabroso - tapas in Little 5. The Universal Joint - burgers, etc. in Oakhurst Village. Noche - tapas in Va.Hi. Feast in Decatur.

4) Ecco in Midtown.

I would say that all of these places are gay-friendly.
