Good Eats in Fairfield County (CT)?

Are these recommendations still valid? Just moved to CT myself.

Roslindale eats. Help !

My mother just moved to Roslindale village area. Any recommendations for someone who is NOT a foodie or an adventurous eater? (Am not describing me) Wondering what are safe bets for good ol' american or continental food, where someone can choose seafood and general non heavy fare. Not to get into family politics, but mom seems to be always dieting and I never know what to suggest ! LOL Thank you all

seeking china pearl/dim sum boston advice

I agree with everyone. Better to show up early since chinese dont consider dim sum "lunch" like we westerners do. I will try Hei La Moon, since I am getting bored of China Pearl. hehe :)

the link above is a pretty good standard "vinegret" recipe.

Russian groceries

I personally go to Bazaar. Am Russian. I am going to hit up Waban market since i hear its like a russian supermarket and the quality of the food is pretty high.
Note to all, you need to ask which food is made locally and which is delivered from NY. Yes, alot of what you see in Boston Russian stores is trucked from Brighton Beach, NY.

Bored of options for lunch in Financial District

I should have added Al's and Sultan's. Both good and consitent. (though saltan's is a bit heavy for lunch). I will try Biddy Earlies. Houstons is good, been there.. but again bit far to walk.. gets all the State Street crowd and the like. I am almost by South Station folks! bit of a hike when you are targeting an hour.

Dad Dinner in Cambridge: River Gods?

River Gods is all about timing and I echo the other 2 comments. I think of it as after work drinks place. Can get really loud and rowdy, where service can be spotty at times.

Bored of options for lunch in Financial District

I work on Federal street in the Financial District, and I am simply bored with options.
I have now tried and tested and not thrilled with:
The dreaded cafeteria... blah
Paci's
Panini at Boston Coffee co
The chains: Au Bon Pain, Super Salad, Rebecca's, D'Angelo, Starbucks
Elephant and Castle
Chinatown (kinda far)

Oh yeah, I know there are Langhams and Hyatt.. but we are talking lunch here.. not on expenses...

Help!
