Day laborer friendly taco trucks in SM - any reports?

I radomly had two shrimp ceviche tostadas yesterday and they were amazing. Fresh with lots of lime, a kick of spice, avacado and LOTS of flavor. Seemed very fresh. Does anyone know where this trucks schedual is? I need to go back!

What dishes/restuarants in West Los Angeles Can you Not Live Without?

I would appreciate recommendations to the best restaurants/dishes in west LA that you can't live without.

I prefer restaurants with lots of flavor (often ethnic) but I'm open to anything that is really good in West LA. Let me give you some examples of places that I really enjoy, so you can get a sensse of what I'm asking for. If someone had told me to stick to the following places and items a few years ago, I might have avoided a lot of poor to mediocre experiences.

Tacos Por Favor, Olympic and 14th, SM, amazing monster burritto, the best red salsa I have ever had in my life.

Pom Thai, Lincoln Blvd, SM, excellent spcify beef salad, pad see ew, green curry (actually almost everything I've had has been

Jiraffe, Broadway and 3rd(?), SM Amazing beat salad and a pasta with truffle oil that was to die for. One of the few more expensive restaurants that I really enjoy.

The pizza joint next to red mango in Westwood. Lots of sauce and crispy crust.

Father's Office, Montana Ave, SM, excellent burged and sweet potatoe fries,

Sakura, Centinella Ave, Culver City, yumy large fresh sushi, love the lobster roll, spicy and tuna.

Mr Noodle, Westwood, next to De De Reese, their beef noodle soups and panag curry are terrific.

Budda's Belly, 7475 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, excellent black cod, ahi burger and very good mojitos.

Agra India Kitchen, Lincoln Blvd, Venice, amazing chicken tickka massala. Nice staff.

Thank you to all the chowhound memebers who responded to my last post. You guys and gals are the best! Thanks to Chowhound members, I was introduced to my favoirte Mexican place in LA!

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on other great places/dishes in west LA (I'm willing to explore about a 25 mile radius if its worth it). Tired of the same old stuff and spending good money on bad food/experiences. Thanks

Best Indian Food in or near Santa Monica

I concur with your comments. Bombay cafe was a disappointment. Bland and overpriced. You should try the indian place on the west side of Lincoln Blvd near washington. Best Chicken Tikka Massala I've had.

What is the best Indian restaurant in LA?

India Sweets and Spices is very authentic and IMHO very good, especially for the price. Ask the owner what specials they have and he will take care of you. Although unhealthy, I've had some very tasty meals there.

Best Carne Asada Burrito In West LA Santa Monica?

I treid Lares on Santa Monica and even though I really like the decor and the restaurant itself, I found the food to be poor and overpriced. Really nice reastaurant, especially if your with a group, but not exactly a place I would go for the food.

I stand corrected. Having grown up eating Persian food and having been to almost every if not every Persian restaurant in West LA, I totally agree that their meet is, as you say, VASTLY supperior, to what you find at most mexican places.

Best Carne Asada Burrito In West LA Santa Monica?

Finally got a chance to try Tacos por Favor. WOW. One of the best burritos if not the best burrito I've had in West LA. The line was out the door. A lot of people ordered the hard taco, which were huge and looked really good. I ordered a all meet carne asada with pico de gallo, salsa and guac. Very juice and tasty. I will definately be back! 9.5 out of 10. THANKS!

Your post brought back many memories of late night runs to numerous taco shops. Robertos/Albertos were good but not the best. I don't remember the names, but other taquerias had juicier burritos with better meat and bigger portions. I will be trying all of these places and reporting back soon.

Best Carne Asada Burrito In West LA Santa Monica?

Please help! I moved to West LA from San Diego five years ago and still have not found a juicy, high quality carne asada burrito. Could you please recommend a taqueria or other restaurant on the Westside that serves a juicy steak carne asada burrito (preferably without rice or beans)? A devoted burrito lover thanks you!

I forget the names of many of the places I've tried. For example, I found Tito's tacos boiled meat to be tough and not very tasty (even though I think their salsa is fantastic). The burrito place on Lincoln near Rose right next to the car wash had a pretty good all meat carne asada burrito that went downhill over time. The meat was fatty and the sauce they used to grill/fry the asada gave it an unusual flavor. Benitos on Santa Monica Blvd gave very little meat and way too much in beans and rice (which weren't very good). I've also been to Capo's Taco's on the north side of Santa Monica just West of Bundy and Jose(sp?) in the heart of Westwood village and I found the meat to be just okay at both of these places and the pico de gallo to be poor. I've also tried Super Taco and found it to be mediocre (but the salsa was good). I've been the many others that I can't remember. Unfortunately none impressed me.

To me, an excellent carne asada burrito is so juicy that you have to go out or your way to make sure the juices don't spill on you. The meat is tender and well seasoned and they don't add other stuff (rice, beans, low quality salsa's) that takes away from the flavor of the asada. In an ideal world, my burrito would be 85% carne asada 10% real guacamole and 5% good pico de gallo and/or other salsas.

Thanks for your suggestions!
