Cool Dive Bar Near Sheraton Downtown Denver

I have an 8 day business trip to Denver and would love some feedback on any restaurants and dive bars that are really local in flavor and walkable from the hotel. Thanks!

Helsinki, Tallin, Turku

Thanks for the info. I do hope some locals will contribute, but this should is a great start.

Helsinki, Tallin, Turku

Looking for restaurant and pub tips for the above. Any info on great, local food and wouldn't mind a finer dining option either. Also, any fun bars always good to know about. Thxs.

Animal, Melisse, Providence = Better Spot for two-top?

sorry for the confusion here. basically want to know if the tables for two are lined up in a row with so little space in-between that you might as well be dining with your neighbors. i have already checked menus, it is the atmosphere i would like more info on. your thoughts?

Animal, Melisse, Providence = Better Spot for two-top?

Can anyone advise on which of the three might have decent tables for two? Thank you.

Italian Food in Paris

Looking for great Italian restaurant in Paris. Hope for great food and upscale or cosy atmosphere. Cost not an issue. Thxs.

Cafe near Le Zenith, 19th A

Heading to Le Zenith for a show. Any recs near by for a light bite?

Where did all the Karahi/Indian Woks go?

I, too have been looking for this item. I placed an order at my local and very excellent kitchen shop and have been getting the runaround for two months. It was to be a wedding gift. I went to the All-Clad site and it lists the Karahi as a new product. Have you found it yet? I really want this for my friend, tried buying local, but will now buy from anywhere.

Sunday Supper

Does anyone know of any of the better restaurants doing a "sunday supper" like Lucques does in LA?

Good Drinks, Good Sushi

Looking for a nice (does not need to up YUPPIE) spot for a drink (or two) followed by sushi dinner. Out of Union Square/Convention area a plus, but within reasonable cab ride or Muni

Need Cool Wine Bar Atmosphere Near Moscone

Opposite post from cool dive bar. Have client and need to do the "drink" thing. Woud prefer not to get killed at the hotel bar with pricing. Not so much into the yuppie thing, but something along those lines. Cab ride ok

Need Cool Bar, Great Jukebox, Food Ok

On b-trip to SF at Hilton on O'Farrell. Looking for a great hangout bar with good tunes, some food, dive bar but not really. Willing to take cab within reason. Pool tables a plus. Definitely DO NOT want to be were all the conventioneers will be.

NYC Italian

All time best Chicken Parm in the city = Bello Restaurant on 9th Ave @ 56th ST.

Challenge: I need to find warm space to hold large rehearsal/ out of towners pre- wedding dinner where the food is excellent. It can be moderately expensive, upscale. Most of the wedding guests are coming from California. We might have as many as 100!

might try Etc. Etc. I am not sure exactly what the private room looks like, but the food will be great.

Cool Spot on N. Michigan

Thanks all to chiming in. Any thoughts about Sayat Nova?

Cool Spot on N. Michigan

You were kind enough to answer my last post when I was in Chicago at the Westin! So, thanks again. For my bar night, I really want something Local in Feel, not at a hotel. We both travel a lot and end up at the hotel bar for lack of anything easier. I was hoping for a fun, tapas-like bar where we can have a couple of drinks, chat and order some tasty food. I keep hearing about Rush Street - something I should look into?

Cool Spot on N. Michigan

In town on business staying at Omni @ 676 N. Michigan. Need one rec for cool bar/restaurant near hotel for entertaining a very low-key person and one rec for a foodie restaurant that I can eat alone and not feel totally weird. Cab okay for solo night but near hotel also a plus. Thanks!

Near Westin Chicago

Can anyone suggest a great local restaurant near the Westin. In town on business, but doing b-dinners on nights two and three, so want some good local atmosphere and food and not touristy. Any type of food would be okay, except steakhouse! Thxs.

Lucques Short Ribs - Too Much Liquid

great idea on the freezing - i hadn't really considered that.

Lucques Short Ribs - Too Much Liquid

This is the second time I have made Suzanne Goin's fantastic short ribs but both times I end up with an enormous amount of braising stock unused. I buy 5 pounds of short ribs which fit perfectly in my Le Creuset Dutch Oven. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have a formula to reduce the liquid so I don't waste all that wine, port and beef stock?

Need Spot to take Foodie Boss and Wife

I was supposed to make reservations at Blue Hill but got the date wrong and missed the reservation window. Any suggestions for something a little of the beaten path?

Best Chicken Parm?

By far, the best chicken parm in the city is at a restaurant called Bello located on 9th Ave and 56th St. The restaurant caters to a theater crowd so don't go before 7:45pm. They are a little upscale rather than fun. I think the chick parm is around $18 - $19 and comes with a load of delicious pasta.

Seattle Raw Bar

Looking for the best raw bar in the city...
