Sixpoint Craft Ales Brewery Tour
Does anyone know if the brewery is currently offering tours [akin to the ones they used to do every Sat, prior to their expansion last summer]?? Any information at all would be helpful, as no mention was made on their website. Thanks.
Eats Around Hospital for Special Surgery
WOW! Many responses, of which I will attempt to check out over the course of my 4 month observation :-D I'm in the Joint Mobility Center for the 1st 2 mo. and then I'll be in the Sports Rehab Dept. for the remaining 2 mo. No white coats required really, but so far things have been great! I'll keep you fellow chowhounds abreast of my lunch excursions though....
Eats Around Hospital for Special Surgery
I'll be doing a clinical rotation at the aforementioned hospital on 70th St and York Ave for the Fall semester and am in need of some serious insight regarding eat and drink options in the area--if only to escape the clutches hospital cafeteria and home lunches every now and again. I'd be most appreciative!!
Celebratory Dinner
My father will be coming in from Hawaii for my sister's college graduation. Her commencement and his birth date fall on the same night, and we [there will be about 5 of us] are planning a dinner to celebrate both of those occasions! Italian has been agreed upon, and Lupa has been mentioned as an option--but any recommendations you guys can muster up on an Italian restaurant with "melt back into your seat" dishes, a great selection of wines, pleasant&knowledgeable staff, and a casual to trendy/bustling atmosphere would be most welcome. Am open to different locales. Also, recommended dishes for your places of mention would be helpful too :)
Mahalo!
Best of the 7 Line
40th St-Lowery: Natural Tofu--heavenly kimchee pork soondubu [soft tofu stew served in a bubbling cauldron] as well as whole barbecued squid served atop a bed of sizzling onions...good assortment of pan chan too
74th St-Broadway: Zabb--great and inexpensive regional Issan Thai cuisine, known for their array of salads. Highly recommend the crispy rice and pork skin salad, Thai spicy. Plus it's BYOB and right next door to Burmese Cafe!
Pre-Dinner Drinks w/in the West Village-Chelsea Range
Looking for some awesome suggestions regarding pre-dinner drinks in the above stated areas...Someplace cozy [without being too crowded or cramped], fun yet unpretentious, and reasonably priced that makes a good drink as well as carries a decent wine and beer selection. My boyfriend and I will be going during the happy hour/after work time slots (6-8pm), so a place with good drink deals will definitely serve as a plus! We are both generally unfamiliar with the drink scene in that area, so any insight into places that you've enjoyed your experiences at and/or are fond of would be of tremendous help..thanks!
