Restaurant in Trastevere
"Le Mani in Pasta" served the only standout food we had during five days in Rome, despite our having taken care to eat at several highly TripAdvisor-rated (but not expensive) restaurants. Our meal there was simple yet amazing and I would go back in a heartbeat. Don't be offended if they are persistent about steering you toward the daily specials; they really know what they are doing.
Dinners in Berlin Please?
Hi Stuart,
My husband and I had a lovely Italian meal at Pino in Potsdam over the summer. Service was friendly and after seeing how much we liked the food, the waiter gave us little bits of other dishes on the side so that we could try them.

Bagels in Dallas
Most people in Dallas don't know what real croissants or bagels are, so we just end up with "bread in croissant shape" and "bread in bagel shape." For croissants I order the frozen dough from Williams Sonoma. With regard to bagels, I actually did get six decent mini-bagels once from Whole Foods that tasted exactly like the ones I used to get in Toronto. However, when I went back to WF the following week and bought what looked like the same package of mini-bagels, they tasted nothing like the first batch. Weird. Anyway, thanks for the tips about Deli News and Carmen's.
Best Tex-Mex in Dallas 214 area
I like the enchiladas at Cantina Laredo (several locations). And the fajitas at Uncle Julio's. Skip El Chico for sure. Luna de Noche and Mi Cocina are good, but the latter is overpriced in my opinion. I don't like El Fenix much.
Has anyone tried Ali Baba in Lakewood yet?
We ate dinner there on the second Wednesday that it was open and it was terrific. I'd eaten at the Plano and Irving locations and the food was not always as consistently good as at the Greenville location, but so far Lakewood is in good shape. We noticed two or three of the longtime family members working that night, so I guess they are keeping all of the new hires on their toes.
