Looking for south shore lobster shack

Just wanted to thank everybody for their help with the recommendations. Friday afternoon we ended up going to Tony's Clam Shop at Wollaston Beach and shared a seafood platter and a lobster roll. Both were really, really good. The lobster roll was huge and the fried seafood (clams, scallops, shrimp, fish) was great too. the outdoor seating was perfect and we went for a little stroll along the sidewalk by the beach afterwards which was really nice.

Saturday afternoon we made it down to the Hingham Lobster Pound and had pretty much the same lunch again ; ) Lobster roll and this time the fried clams & scallop platter. While these guys were less expensive, I preferred the food at Tony's. Much larger lobster roll for only like 5 bucks extra, and the batter at Tony's was lighter which allowed us to taste the seafood, but still have just the right amount of crunch... (Did not understand why none of these places serve lemon wedges with the fried seafood though. Is that a New England thing? We were both thinking it would have tasted better with a little squeeze of lemon, but it was still good).

We did head down to Nantasket beach afterwards, it was a beautiful day and we had another nice stroll.

Saturday night we went to Finz in Dedham (worked out very good for us since our hotel was right on Rt. 1 and there really wasn't much else around there). We had another very good meal with highlights being the lobster ravioli and prosciutto wrapped shrimp. We didn't really like the "FINZ Wasabi - Stoli Oysters" (thought it sounded interesting at the time...) Would have been nice if they hadn't run out of their special of the day, a 4.5 lb lobster with trimmings for $74. We did get there kinda late though.

Lastly, we had a late lunch/early dinner before heading to the airport at Neptune Oyster. We shared a variety of oysters (around 30) with our favorites being the Island Creek and Wellfleets. And like the true food-tourists we are we had to try the lobster roll here too... Except we tried the hot-buttered version that we've heard so much about and I have to say it did NOT disappoint. And we of course ended the trip with a stop at Mike's Pastry and got a box to go (which we were warned we'd have to pack into our check-on luggage by a very helpful lady at the airport, saving us the disappointment of having to surrender them to the overzealous airport security officers). The half lobster-tail I had with my tea this morning was well worth unpacking and re-packing our bags at the counter... So delicious.

All in all it was a great food weekend. I'd have to say the Neptune Lobster roll came out on top, just beating Tony's. (The last time we were in town we the lobster rolls from James Hook were the best we'd tried, but I'd have to say that Tony's was just as good and Neptune even better. Although James Hook's were a lot less expensive). I think we'll definitely be back there next time we're in the area.

Thanks again everyone!

James Hook is OPEN for retail!

Wow, it's a good thing I saw this. I will be in Boston for the weekend and was hoping to make my usual stop for their lobster roll... Does anybody know if they have lobster rolls at their temp. location?

Hingham Lobster Pound was one of the places I was considering, but due the lack of seating I wanted to see if there were any other options. I guess I could always take it to go and find somewhere to eat as it sounds like there are quite a few options nearby.

Anybody had lobster from there?

Looking for south shore lobster shack

Hi all,

I will be visiting the Boston area this weekend and wanted to have a nice outdoor lobster lunch on Friday afternoon with the girlfriend (we arrive at Logan tomorrow morning, will be renting a car and heading down to the Norwood area where we're staying). I figured there might be some places close to Quincy, which is kinda on the way, where I could stop for lunch. So far most of the recs I've seen on here have been for places with fried clams and fried seafood, but no mention of lobster. Any recs for places where I could get some fresh lobster by the coast?

I'm not on a tight schedule so I would be willing to drive a bit farther, like maybe to Nantasket...

Thanks

Recs for Fancy-ish Sunday Brunch (The Old Mill?)

Made a mistake, I think $38 was the easter brunch...

Anyways, I've also heard good things about Thuet and Globe Cafe. Any others?

Recs for Fancy-ish Sunday Brunch (The Old Mill?)

Just wondering if anyone has been to the Old Mill for Sunday Brunch lately. Couldn't find any recent reviews on here, and it looks like the price has now gone up to $38 /person.

I will be taking the girlfriend out for brunch followed by a show at the opera house this Sunday for her birthday. Any other recs for a fancy-ish Sunday brunch in that same price range?

Best pizza in Toronto?

For any of you who like Cora's, you should definitely try Massimo's on College, just west of Spadina (mentioned above). They only have like 4 different types of slices, but unlike most places they keep the slices in the oven so they're always warm and fresh, the crust never gets hard and stale... If you like sloppy, thin crust slices that you have to fold or hold with two hands to eat (if you do, you'll know what I mean...), then you're going to love this place. I haven't gone back to Coras since I had their margherita, they also have a version of the Margherita with hot peppers on it that I am craving at this very moment...
