OMI Sushi on Santa Monica and Crescent Heights is good. The cuts of fish are big and very fresh and the prices are very reasonable. The sushi chef and the servers are very nice.

I am in search of a restaurant/bar/venue that can provide drinks and desserts for a late evening reception for about 120. I am open to any area of LA but would prefer the Westside, Hollywood, or West Hollywood. I would like to keep it under $50 pp.

I'm into not too expensive Pinot Noir. I like Black Mountain (the price recently went up to 5.99), Rex (6.99), and Blue Fin (3.99).

I had a piece of birthday cake from The Senstive Baker a few weeks ago. I'm not a huge cake person, but it was decent. They also sell cupcakes and other baked goods.

Fritto Misto in Santa Monica. They have good food and a very small corkage charge.

I think the OP was talking about a restaurant Ciudad in DTLA and the coupon came from Whole Foods.

They have good mojitos and sustainable seafood.

Stay clear of LA Unified. That food is not edible.

What time does Hungry Cat get busy? We may be going for dinner on Saturday night. I'd like a quieter dinner but I'm all for having some tasty cocktails too.

I will be staying at a small hotel on State St. this weekend and I am looking for a good place to do breakfast/brunch. I am open to all types of places in all price ranges just as long as it's good food!! For dinner on Sat. night we are going to either Hungry Cat or the Palace or Milk & Honey. Any thoughts on these places??

I think it's only closed for renovation. Maybe it won't be a tarp-covered restaurant in a parking lot anymore.

El Carmen (Tequila bar on 3rd and Crescent Heights) expanded their menu not too long ago. They have the best nachos with all of the fixin's-- guacamole, cheese, sour cream, etc. with your choice of meat. All that for about $6 for a huge portion.
El Carmen has really good bar food as it is and the nachos are the best!

I think the Sopa Azteca is the BEST!!!

I saw it at the one in Culver City. They probably have it at the one in We Ho, though.

I second the soup at Monte Alban. I always crave their Chicken Tortilla soup.

I do not know the name of the place that sells the funnel cakes at FM. It's right near Pampas Grill and Magee's. Hope that helps! Just wonder around FM and you'll be sure to find lots of tasty things !
