Best Korean - Any Borough

Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for excellent Korean restaurants. After spending time in Seoul last year I am craving naeng myun, janshi guksu and kal guksu. Do I just go to K-town in Manhattan or is there an outer borough gem that I shouldn't miss?

The best Bibim Naengmyeon, Kalguksu & Janchi Guksu

Had these dishes in Seoul & can't stop thinking about them. Who in the 5 boroughs does them best?

South Korea recommendations

In Korea for a 12 day stay and would like some food suggestions in and around Dongducheon, Seoul and Mokpo. Will be doing a road trip from Dongducheon down south to Mokpo and would love to have some food adventures along the way. I only have my Korean phrase book to help me,so I realize this will be difficult as a non-native speaker, but I'm will to try!

Top Salads in Brooklyn

I had an amazing beet & endive salad w/ pumpernickel croutons w/ a wonderfully creamy dressing at Jack's Luxury Oyster Bar this weekend (It was so good I can't stop thinking about it) and I've started thinking about my favorite salads in Brooklyn.

I came up with:

Stone Park Cafe: The Frisée Salad with shiitake mushrooms, lardons, Yukon Gold potatoes, & a crispy poached egg (i love the egg)

Frankie's 457: The Fennel, Celery Root, Parsley, Red Onion, Lemon & Pecorino salad (I could eat pounds of this - it's so refreshing).

Little Dishes/Little D (closed): Iceberg wedge salad w/ bacon and Vermont Cheddar crumbles and a buttermilk dressing.

The Vanderbilt: The Hamachi Crudo (which is awesome itself) comes with this garnish salad of baby greens and thinly sliced radishes and some kind of awesome vinaigrette. I loved it so much we got a second order! I wish this a regular sized salad...

La Canaille: Warm Lentil Salad (the original one w/ the lardons) - the new one is not so hot. They also used to have an amazing plain green salad when they first opened. It was a huge bowl of greens with a very vinegar-heavy vinaigrette...holy yum.

Anyone else have a top five salads in Brooklyn list?

Best Gringo Tacos?

Lobo - in Cobble Hill or Park Slope has crispy tacos. They're a step up from the cafeteria - but not much! They'll do wonders for a hangover, however.

Brazilian food tour in Queens

I want to take a Brazilian foodie staycation over the long weekend & i hear i should head to Queens. Anyone have any favorite food markets/groceries, specialty stores, take out joints or restaurants/cafes in Queens to recommend? I've been to Plataforma - are there any spots in Queens where I can have a similar (better?) experience?

Food shopping in Spanish Harlem

I'm interested in doing some Latin-inspired cooking and want to check out the food shopping options in Spanish Harlem. Anyone have any favorite food markets/groceries, specialty stores, places to find interesting ingredients, take out joints or restaurants/cafes to duck into for a a shopping reprieve?

Caesar Salad

Who makes the best Caesar salad? Sure - i can make my own, & often do, but sometimes I want someone else to do the work. The best I've ever had are at Paolo's in DC & at Apizza Scholls in Portland, OR. Any in the NYC area that are as good as home made? Any awesome variations on the traditional theme?

First time in NO for an NY foodie

I'll be in NO from 12/29/08-1/2/09. I want to eat dishes that are only found in, or are native to NO. I'd like to eat where the locals eat - from noscale to upscale. I'll be staying in the F. Marigny near the FQ. Suggestions?

The Best Brooklyn Bar/Restaurant or Restaurant w/ Outdoor Space

Looking for the Best Brooklyn Bar/Restaurant or Restaurant with Outdoor Space (garden? patio? rooftop? deck?) to throw a 5th Anniversary party in Park Slope, Fort Greene, Gowanus, Red Hook, Dumbo, Columbia St. Waterfront, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill or Prospect Heights. Any ideas? Somwhere with awesome appetizers/tapas might be nice.

Best weddings in NY?

My own wedding was stellar. Married on the rooftop of Space 515 in Chelsea, catered (using many of my own recipes) by Ready to Eat. It was 4 years ago & people still talk about it as the best wedding they've ever been to. I want to do it all over again, it was so fun!

Pho!

I'm desperate to find an amazing Pho place in Manhattan/Brooklyn. The most passable i've had near Park Slope was from Mai. I've also had Pho at Pho Grand in Manhattan's Chinatown, which was okay, but i've had better. I make a mean Pho myself, but sometimes you don't want to wait many hours for the broth to simmer - you just want it NOW. My husband is from Portland, OR where there seem to be as many Pho restaurants as there are Mcdonalds spots, so it's always our hangover cure when we're out there. I'm from DC where there is a chain in MD/VA called Pho 75 which is just amazing - I dream of it, i crave it. I'm looking for somewhere in Brooklyn I can start craving/dreaming of. Any suggestions?
