Agave in Las Vegas?

Sounds like the place. I would try it if I were you. They have great tacos, and the tequila choices are great!

Best Cajun in LV

There are two new restaurants in the Town Square are that have cajun influence, I know that one of the chefs was formerly at Commander's Palace. Louis's is the name of one...the other is something like that.

Turns out the pre-fix menu on New Year's Eve is $375, plus, plus! Holy Cow!!

Vegetarian Vegas

Fleur de Lys does a vegetarian tasting menu. It is at the Mandalay Bay. Every meal we have had there has been great!

Vegas; Cafe Martorano?

I have heard that the food can be good. The atmosphere is crazy, loud, very LOUD music, sometimes the same record over and over. TV screens with movies like Scarface playing. I also heard that the chef, Martorano, was having open heart surgery back in Florida...and the restaurant may close.

SW Steakhouse?

I haven't had been to any of the restaurants in the "new" Planet Hollywood Resort. I think just out of convienence they would be a safe bet.

SW Steakhouse?

The steaks are still good, the menu doesn't have any of the really fantastic touches that Chef Klein had given it. If you plan to eat there on New Year's eve, don't. They will have one seating with a tasting menu, not worth the money.

Vox-Henderson

Just had a fantastic meal at Vox in Henderson. They have just opened about a week ago, and by our meal, it can only get better. We had a tasting, started with a fig salad with candied walnuts and a warm tatsoi salad with quail egg and bacon lardons. Two soup tastings, carrot and ginger with cardomom creme fraiche, pumpkin with speck ham. A seared scallop with lentils, a scallop en croute with creamed leeks and truffle. Whole oven roasted Branzino with arugula and honey. And I think we had every dessert on the menu! The sorbets are wonderful, their "take" on bananas foster was well worth it. I would suggest this restaurant highly to anyone in the area. They also have a great wine list, super affordable, and they are open 24 hours due to gaming. I think once they are open for a little longer, the service issues will be worked through, but even at that, they were minimal. Not to metion, they had a great jazz trio playing the majority of our two hours there. As a friend of mine told me, "RUN, don't walk, to VOX"!

Delmonico? Would you recommend?

Delmonico is a great option for those who are seeking a great, dry-aged, bone-in ribeye. The wine list is fabulous. And, the service can be the best in the city at times. I don't think that the menu is the most creative, or well executed in town. But if you are a steak lover, and really just want steak, potatoes, and wine...give it a shot!

Buying Champagne in Las Vegas?

There is a store called the Caviar Baron on Industrial, not sure if they sell champagne, but they must sell caviar! Lee's is the best place for buying champagne, Khoury's also has some nice selections ( on Eastern).

Anywhere for single malt in Vegas?

Delmonico and Craftsteak have the largest availability. Craftsteak really prides themselves on their list.

Oysters please...

Bouchon does have the best oyster bar in town, and it pays to sit at the bar and make nice with the bartenders.

Vegas Steak

Capital Grill is good, as is Joe's at Caesar's. I hope you are willing to pay more than $75/head mid-strip, especially if you will be having wine/cocktails!

Choices at the Wynn before Spamalot

Tableau is delicious, and they may be closing soon for dinner, so you may want to hurry! Corsa is good, but they have lost their chef. Alex Stratta is the proposed new chef, but I don't think he has changed anything if he has even taken over yet. Still haven't been to Wing Lei, but Red8 is fantastic!

staying at Red Rock Casino - good foood around the area

Agave has really fantastic food. They also have a huge selecton of tequilas to choose from. I suggest the birria de chivo, the fish tacos, the chicken tinga is great. The taco sampler is the best way to experience all they can do.

Non-steakhouse steak in Vegas?

Sonoma Cellars in Sunset Station. They have Dry Aged Prime beef that is absolutly delicious and I have never had an improperly cooked steak there (and I order the bone-in Ribeye, Charred, Medium Rare). Prices are reasonable as well and they have a decent wine list (Mostly California), and they have never charged us a corkage when we brought in our own wine.

Lobster shacks we can't miss!

Driving from Boston to Vermont with time to spare, would like to head to the coast for some great lobster. If you have any tips or special stops we should make, please post!

Sweets and other baked goods in Boston

Thanks for the summation. I know all about checking the other threads for these topics. Those that I have looked into were from last year or later. It is nice to have up to date info for my trip. Cant wait to try a few of these, hope we have enough time to find them all!

something soupy in vegas

Red 8 at the Wynn has delicious noodle soups. Also, the Noodle Shop at Mandalay Bay has never disappointed. The best part is that these are easy to find and have great menus otherwise.

Delmonico Opinons

Interestingly enough, all of the restaurants on the Strip have become "fair and way overpriced for the quality". Welcome to the Strip!

okada v. bartolotta v. b&b

I've been to all three and Bartolotta is hands down my favorite. The pasta at B&B's was good, but everything else is lacking IMO. The cheese ravioli's at Bartolotta's is better then anything at B&B's and between the Octopus Salad, Steak Tartare, whole fish, and Grilled Spiney Lobster, you just can't go wrong. Wine lists are comparable at both (overpriced, all Itlaian). Sit in the grotto if you can at Bartolotta's and you will know what perfection is... and you don't have to listen to the Ramones or the Flaming lips played too loud over the whole meal. I have been to Okada also, and was not impressed at all. The food was avg., Sushi was good, and Service was awful. The restaurant is beautifull though...

Boston Restaurant Rec's Please

Hi all,

I will be in Boston for 2 days in early September and I need some recommendations for dinner. I used to live in Boston around 10 years ago, but I was a college student and as such I sure didn't eat out that often so i am familiar with areas but not really restaurants. I am interested in places in the North End, but I will take all excellent restaurant recomendations. Last, the price range is not as important. I am willing to spend the money, as long as the meal is exceptional. Thanks for the help.

Henderson Nevada Steakhouses - any rec's?

Sunset Station has a great steakhouse, Sonoma Cellars. They also have two areas where they can house your group. While Todd's may have good food, they are too small for a group your size. We have also had a meal at Steak, the food and even more so, the service, is not worth going back for.
