victor' falafel--RT 9
if you want a real falafel wrap or an awesome gyro, try the grilling greek in downtown Natick. There was a review in the Globe's cheap eats a couple months ago. the lamb is very tasty. it's shaved leg of lamb. not kebobs or frozen gyro strips. and the home tatiki is very nice.
Yakos (Tacos) Mexico
there was a long thread about this place last month. we love it! hope they can survive! the only real tacos west of waltham. the discada is my favorite. I may stop there tonuight for some take out now that you remind me.

Tacos Mexico - Great taqueria in Framingham
the kid was working last night. he did fine. his english is not as good as the owner.
unfiortunately I tried some mexican chourizo tacos as well as descada and now I am all torn up about which one i like more! the chorizo tacos bring a little heat and were awesome!
Tacos Mexico - Great taqueria in Framingham
the owner of TM is from Chihuahua so the dishes are northern. no carnitas put he has their version of pork for tacos. the discada is his local recipe and is my favorite of everything on the menu.
Tacos Mexico - Great taqueria in Framingham
I'm sensing a tone...
I didn't mean to sound snippy, was firing off a post while busy...
Tacos Mexico - Great taqueria in Framingham
this is a small diner. i didn't see soup. it's basic breakfast and lunch/dinner is burrito, quesidilla or tacos. he does have 5-6 meat fillings to choose from. no fish. this is a taco joint, not a full service restaurant. hope that helps.
Tacos Mexico - Great taqueria in Framingham
thanks for the recomendation FH! this place is awesome! I no longer need to go to to Waltham for my taco fix. I loved the descada taco. The asada and the lengua were also top notch. friendly owner and fast service. very kid friendly too. the owner even made my 3 yr old a mini burrito gratis because he wanted what his older bro was having and didn't want his quesidilla. he did have limes yesterday and stated he's now going to be open from breakfast an also staying open later tues-fri. service is fast and everything was very tasty.
This place will be at the top of my rotation for while.
Where do you eat with your young kids?
does anyone know if watch city brew pub still does the family thing on sundays? thanks
Island Creek Oyster Bar--best place in the whole world!
good read, love the first line! so true. it's astounding the difference in taste of oysters based on where they grew up, even those in close proximity like down on cape cod.

Framingham/Natick restaurant recs??
some good rec's above. only ones I'd add would be Pepperoncini's in Framingham, good pizza and steak tips, friendly bar (fills with college kids after 10pm though) and for take out The Grillin Greek in Natick Center. Foti and his mom whip up some great greek treats. pizza is average but the gyro and lamb stew are unreal!

Looking for restaurants that deliver to Natick?
we went this route as well. My parents ate much healthier food and they both enjoyed the visits. My mother appreciated the young lady chef getting my old man all worked up with all her bending over the stove LOL! But if you are trying to take advantage of the estate tax cut before it expire then by all means load them up on pizza and chinese!
The Grillin Greek
just beware it's a take out place. there is one table with 2 chairs though. maybe call ahead too. i stopped in for lunch last sat. and it was just the owners fathers there and the stew was just starting. I had to come back later.
The Grillin Greek
It's been a few months since my last post but I have a recent find I thought I'd share. The Grillin Greek in Natick is putting out some seriously chow worthy delicascies fairly cheap these days. It's a take out pizza joint but some of the homemade greek food is unreal. I'm addicted to the lamb stew and the gyro. The owners are also doing the gyro and any sub on a fresh made pita. The last few times I've been there and seen my pita come out of the oven before it gets loaded up with real lamb and great homemade takiki sauce! The grilled chicken salad is the wifes favorite, chicken is marninated in the garndma's home made greek dressing that is really good. Pizza is meh and parking non existent but that adds to the adventure! I hope this hasn't been covered before. I couldn't find the search option on the new site...

updated suggestions for Waltham/Watertown?
marcelliono's is schizrophrenic! I've had awesome meals there and a couple horrible experinces. you alwat\ys roll the dice there. not worth the risk...
la campania is my fav in waltham....next to taqueria. michale j's made a great burger till the fire chief shut that down!
updated suggestions for Waltham/Watertown?
coach grille is good. it's historic in that it was once called Red Coach Grill and was famous for their room that kid showed Deputy Dawg cartoons on a projector non stop! I love those cartoons! my nana loved the baked scrod at thr red coach grill. it was a semi-popular chain back in the 70's thru 80's!
Butcher in Metro West
Dewars is the best and my personal favorite. no more triops to newton centre is even better. if you're on the outter rim of metro west, the meatcutter on rt 109 in millis always had some good stuff when we lived out that way.
L'Andana Burlington Last night 11/05/2007
work right behind here, do they have a bar?
Indian restaurants in Framingham
don't overlook Curry Leaf on rt9 east next to x-mas tree shop. far better than all except Dakshin (pre closing-haven't ben since). it's small but great!
Captain Marsden: Worth the drive to Wellesley
really? I've always found them cheaper or right on. the only things that would stick out would be nantucket bay scallops or wild copper river salmon, most places can't even get those and if they do they don't get the best of the lot.
then again we shop mostly at roche bros so it's easy for CM to beat them on price and quality. i didn't know that Whole foods had gotten cheaper that RB's
Captain Marsden: Worth the drive to Wellesley
also, don't overlook the best butcher shop on the west side of the city which is right next door, although they do have another branch in downtown Newton...Dewars.
Captain Marsden: Worth the drive to Wellesley
can't speak for the north or south shore but CM's is the best on the west side of the city. try their chowders and various cakes. outstanding!
Restaurants near Leominster
Il Camino for iialian. no clue what street it's on. great homemade italian food and cheap too! restaurant is kind of dumpy but the food makes up for it.
