Chink"s Steaks
Tony's Place (Tomato Pie)
Authentic Greek Gyros in Canton, Oh? Seriously?
Make the drive up to the West Side Market in Cleveland and try Steve's gyro in the market. The best ever.
Chink's Cheesesteaks
I was just at Chinks this weekend and thought the steak was real good. No fat, great roll, perfect onions, great milkshake, speedy service. The best cheesesteak, and pork sand in the city are found at John's Roast Pork - awesome.
Gyros in Cleveland?
You don't need any recs other than Steve's in the West Side Market if you want the best Cleveland has to offer for Gyro.
Best Gyro in the burbs
pamd, Care to share your Baltimore location for best Gyro. Thanks.
Polish food around Harrisburg PA
Thanks for the reply. I had read those posts already and hoped I could find something close to home (Waynesboro, PA) but if not then I would hit quite a few of my old haunts in Philly where I still have family and great Kielbasa connections. Thanks again.
Polish food around Harrisburg PA
Are there any polish restaurants, deli's or grocery stores in or around Harrisburg PA?
I'm looking specifically for good smoked kielbasa. Do I have to drive all the way to Philly to get some or what Thanks.
Polish foods north of Baltimore
Any ideas for Polish foods in Baltimore or north to Harrisburg PA? Thanks.
West Side Market, Cleveland, What to Buy?
Steve's Gyro is not just about the size which is big, but the taste is easily the best I've ever had. The spices and the sauce is awesome. The pita they use is excellent as well. Stand B-10, Czuchraj Meats have the best smokies, keibasa, bacon and Italian sausage too. Frank's Bratwurst are decent.
philly cheesesteaks
John's Roast Pork has the best steaks and pork sands in the city right around the the corner from Tony Luke's.
Kirtland-Chardon-(Mentor), OH: Pizza?
Can't recall the name but on the southwest corner of route 306 and 6 is a good pizza place.
Best Cheesesteak (in Philly) from a Place That Is Off the Beaten Path?
John's Roast Pork for the steak and the pork. The best. Torresdale is an Ave. and it gets dumpier by the minute.
Cleveland anyone? [Moved from General Topics]
I would say Great Lakes Brew by the west side market is your closest and best option.
Philly Cheesesteak
Den. Thats why you gotta go with someone else so you can halfsie both sandwiches. You're right on.
Philly Cheesesteak
John's Roast Pork gets my vote for best steak and best roast pork. Awesome.
Where do you go for Polish food?
Syrenka's on 3173 Richmond in Port Richmond. Awesome rogies. Old school. Clean and cheap. Around the corner is Baltic Bakery too.
Great restaurant east of Cleveland?
Syd,
You can get all that you need at the lodge in Punderson State Park. The Red Maple Inn is nice but the lodge has almost all of your needs met in one spot. If you stay at Punderson you would be that much closer to the Chagrin Falls area too.
Great restaurant east of Cleveland?
Syd was looking for a 15 minute drive. Moxie is good but it is a solid 1/2 hour drive from Burton and the Falls a good 20 minutes in dry weather. I agree with you that there must be more suitable choices as far as dining in NEO but the Maple Inn and the surrounding area is about as charming as it gets in NEO, just not chowy.
Great restaurant east of Cleveland?
There is not a "great" place to eat within 15 minutes of Burton. The Bass Lake Tavern in Chardon is as good as you are going to get in that neighborhood. I would suggest going to Joel's in Burton for average pizza, or boondock Italian, then you could spend more time in your room at the Inn instead of more time driving. The lodge at Punderson is a nice place for dinner. Food is O.K.
Bakery for Philadelphia Butter Cake? (moved from PA board)
Haegele's and the Mayfair bakery both do butter cake well. Haegele's is wetter. The only thing our family ever bought from Stock's is their pound cake. It is the best.
