There used to be a little place called L.A. Thai on Fountain at Sunset, right behind McDonald's and The Kitchen. I ate there at least once a week, as much for the expertly cooked food as the chance to say hi to "Cookie", the owner. She sold the restaurant a year ago, but I heard a rumor she has re-opened somewhere in Los Angeles. Mother of Pearl! Is it true? Where is she and her super-fresh ingredients and masterful chef sister - they even took fish sauce out of dishes for my vegan friend.
