Coming back to Seattle after a few years

after looking around a bit more... if I want to go for a nice dinner, Spur or Book Bindery? What's the experience on price point at the end of the meal?

Coming back to Seattle after a few years

Hi everyone, if my question is redundant just let me know. I've used CH in the past and gotten great results.

As I said in the title its been a few years since I've been down in Seattle, I'm a chef/teacher in Vancouver BC, and kinda wondering what I've been missing these last years. I love the Seattle food scene and have had some amazing meals there.

Been to in the past: Paseo, Salumi, most of Tom Douglas's places (PK rocks!), La Carta de Oaxaca, Top Pot, Matt's, Macrina Bakery, and a few others that escape me right now. I guess you could say I'm a fan of hole-in-the-wall type places, but also enjoy more upscale casual as well.

The list for now? ...looking at Revel, Quinn's, Spur, Walrus and Carpenter, Sitka and Spruce, Book Bindery, also going to SAM restaurant for chicken and waffles on Sunday brunch (the wife has a craving).

Is this a good list? Wouldn't mind hitting a few of these at least. Does anyone have anymore recommendations in the Downtown/Belltown area?

My other question... where are some great places for drinks happy hour or otherwise? I love the food scene in my Vancouver as well, but one thing that the U.S. always does better than us here North of the border is booze. Looking for some really good drinking places or somewhere with a good craft beer scene.

Let me know Seattle!

Looking for an "Only In Seattle" type place

Agreed, it's awesome. You have to go during the day, during the week... the last I heard at least.

Looking for an "Only In Seattle" type place

Here, here! I went to Paseo on a recommendation from this sight, (I live in Vancouver BC) and was blown away. Super good, tasty and fresh.... not mention inexpensive. Perfect!

Seattle: super casual brunch place for 8

Awesome suggestion Zoogrrl. I've tried to go Macrina several times but the waits were immense. Is that brewery Elyssian?

Seattle: super casual brunch place for 8

Hi,

I know brunch is a big deal on the West Coast. There will be 8 individuals looking for some grub on a Sunday. We will be walking from the Moore Hotel (Belltown) to Safeco Field.

Any suggestion for an easy brunch place along the way where we won't have to wait for a hour?

Thx

Seattle happy hour on Saturday?

Seattle happy hour on Saturday?

I'm looking for (and wondering) if any places in Seattle (Belltown/Cap Hill) have happy hour on Saturday afternoon. Any ideas or suggestions?

Good Brewpub/Steak house - Seattle

Thanks for all the great reply's folks! What are the main drags of Cap Hill, if we're just walking around bar hopping?

Good Brewpub/Steak house - Seattle

thanks T-dog, I will look up the Palace. I've been to Elyasian after a game before it was good, I love American micros. Any other suggestions? Now that I think of it any good restaurant, that has a fun type of atmosphere would be excellent. Belltown or Cap Hill?

Good Brewpub/Steak house - Seattle

I'm from Vancouver Canada, but I am organizing a bachelor party in Seattle in July.

What I am looking for are suggestions for a good restaurant. I was thinking a steakhouse or nice brew pub, not mega expensive but with good drinks (strong!) and in the downtown area. I love Seattle and I know there are a lot of options so I want to try and narrow it down to good ones.

Also a couple a bars and perhaps a hotel if you're feeling really helpful.

Thanks

cool eats in Seattle

I'm going to Seattle next weekend. I am also a chef and in school so I'm kinda broke. Are there any really funky, cool but not outrageously expensive places to check out. Any suggestions are great. Coffee joints, lunch spots, dinner hideaways, also happy hours for Friday after work time

Thx
