Which Irish Pub in Manhattan Has the Best Food?
I say Mollys on 22 and 3rd. The burgers are the signature item but the Fish and Chips the best in the city
special night-- downtown --buddakan vs morimoto vs kittichai
Kittichai is definietly the worst of the three, Buddakan has more variety of cooked foods.
NYC Ribs?
Houstons has outstanding ribs. Fall off the bone style, and great eye candy as well.
Smith & Wollenskys
S&W has the best steak in the city in my opinion. The bone in cajun ribeye is to die for.
Is Tavern on the Green Really That Bad?
Please cancel the res. You will feel like you just wasted $200+ on a meal for 4.
Best cut at Del Frisco's????
Personally, I think the best steak in the city id the bone in cajun rib eye at Wollensky grill.
Best creamed spinach is A&M. Del friscos has an awesome shrimp cocktail.
ZAGAT VS. CITYSEARCH
The Zagat reviews are the same every year. I have a 2002 edition and the writeups are the same as my 2007
Dollar oyster happy hour in Manhattan or Brooklyn
McCormick and Schmick's, 1 dollar oysters and 2 dollar cheeseburgers!!
Wolfgang's Burger?
Mollys on 22 and 3rd is the best in the hood. Waterfront Ale house on 29 and 2nd is good as well.
Best cut at Del Frisco's????
I would have to agree with jon and avoid. The steaks are just OK but both times I went were under cooked. When I called over the waiter he told me to cut open the steak and place it cut side down on the plate. "The plate is so hot it will cook it more" That should say it all.
Romantic Downtown Weekend
Romantic Italian in walking distance from your hotel, Novita. Get the bottle of Nickle & Nickle you guys will be on cloud nine.
Dahrma on 2nd Ave
Has anyone tried Dahrma on 2nd Ave between 34 and 35? Opinions are welcome.
Dylan Prime - Terrible Experience
8 of us went to dinner at DP this weekend. Starting off with drinks in the lounge, 2 of the 4 drinks were wrong (tonic instead of soda) and a cosmo that was yellow not pink.
Service - Filled our water glasses at the begining of the meal, never saw the busboy again. Empty water glasses the entire meal. Ordered a bottle of wine, finished it before the entrees came, waiter never came by again to see if we wanted another or any other drinks.
Food - The menu looks like a steak house, smells like a steak house, prices like a steak house..........NOT a steak house!!
The house special Carpet Bagger steak was a Filet Mignon stuffed with Oysters $42. There were 2 oysters which were quite small. Not impressed. The Porter house for 2 was bland and very tough (ordered medium). The best steak on the table was the Wellington. But then again, what could be bad wrapped in puff pastry.
No wonder they offer all these special sauces to cover up the bland meat.
However, a new Wolfgangs has opened across the street. Now that is a real SteakHouse
Who had the whole pig at Daisy Mae?
Just did it last week. The whole pig served 17 of us and we had much left over. We ordered some extra ribs also because the pig did not come with ribs. Dont forget to bring your own beer. Also, dont park in front one of us got towed.
Burger That's Too Big?
Molly's is a perfect burger. You might like White Castle better.
Dinner near 37th and lex
Try Hudson Place on 36th and 3rd, suprisingly good babyback ribs.
Sending a Prepared Meal within Manhattan??
Why not just order her dinner and pay with your credit card and have it delivered. I do it all the time for friend who just had a baby.
BEST BBQ in Manhattan?
I have to go with Dino as well. Blue Smoke would be the last on my list.
Eating where cab drivers do?
[This thread was split from a discussion on the Manhattan Board, which you can find at http://www.chowhound.com/topics/370509 --The Chowhound Team]
Based on the line of cab out front all the time. It certainly must be authentic.
Dylan Prime and Surrounding Area Recos
I am going to dinner at Dylan Prime on Sat night. I would love to hear some dinner reccomendations as well as any ideas for drinks in the area afterwards. I know DP has all these sauces you can get with your steak, anyone try any?
any ideas for a truly unique experiance for eats in NYC?
WD-50. You cant get more unique than that
Best Argentinian?
I prefer Noveciento in SoHo. Great area for drinks before and after. Loud and fun too.
